Some of Mexico's beach towns unfortunately are overrun with tourism and lo De Marcos is not like that at all. There are some tourists but there are a lot more people that actually live there. Plenty of restaurants available, beautiful Square in the middle of town, the beach was clean, (that's not always the case when there's too many people).... More

Our extended family stayed for a week in Lo de Marcos and really enjoyed the small town atmosphere and clean beach. While dining at a palapa on the beach one day, we were approached by Manuel who offered to take us on a boat tour for snorkeling or fishing. With little else to go on besides his genuine and straightforward... More

We spent 3 months here in our Rv on the beach. Got to know everybody there. Lovely old time Mexican town. Lovely people. Don't expect modern conveniences or commercial activities.

This was the most amazing horseback ride I have ever been on!! I have been on several horse trail rides but the over the mountains thru the jungle was just simply awesome! Its beautiful scenery and awesome vistas of the Ocean was just something else. And then you ride to a secluded beach which was amazing as well. Lenny is... More

While staying in Bucerias, we took the bus one day to look at Sayulita and Lo de Marco. We liked Lo de Marco because it is smaller, less hustle-bustle, fewer beach vendors and generally quieter. The town looks adequately equipped with restaurants, markets, butcher, seafood, etc. for an extended stay. The beach is good for swimming or boarding. You can... More

Its almost a shame to let the secret out. Lo De Marco, specifically the Casablanca house on the hill, was the best vacation I've ever had. something special for young and old, and a short cab ride away from everything else. Skip the Americanized food options, and eat your heart out at the tiny store front taco shops and roasted... More

My wife and I stayed in Lo De Marcos for 3 nights. The beach is nice and the vibe in town is nice and relaxed. The town is very, very slow. This can be good or bad depending on what you want. There are few restaurants. Don't expect much in quality. We were looking for a restaurant on a Wednesday... More

Living half the year in Nayarit is awesome .,, especially when we jump in the old Yukon and head to other beaches. Sayulita is funky surfy and young with lots of action on the beach, San Poncho has an amazing beach but the surf can be rough at times, still a great town and great beach. We prefer Lo De... More

I stayed at a place right on the beach, next to the lagoon (don't remember the name of it...Villas something, I think). The beach is very nice (good sand and surf not too rough for swimming) and my place had a nice private area on the beach, but the palapa restaurants weren't great and neither were the restaurants in town...
