First of all you will not find it with maps or electronics. It takes instructions from a live person and real 4 wheel drive to get there. Ask how to find Lorena "the pottery maker"if you find this place. The big surprise is she was long ago from Portland Oregon. The local brouha is a gringo!

Tried to drive up from the coast, but road was impassable for cars so went down to Cabo and took the hard to find dirt road up into the mountains. A number of forks in dirt road with no signs, but people helpful when asked for the way. It's basically a long bumpy drive of about 26 km up a... More

Well, interesting as it is, Candelaria is very hard to find. We had Moon travel book and couldn't follow the directions from a certain point. The roads are very sandy, it is quite remote, and no one speaks English. If you are on an ATV tour, maybe the guide knows about it. We tried a second time with a native... More

This was the highlight of our honeymoon, not the romantic stuff but getting away and seeing how these people lived. Seeing the school projects and the things in this town were very interesting to us. Anyways we would recommend seeing this with the WILD ATV tour that stops in here. Very interesting!
