Great leather products are made locally- jackets, purses, back packs, hats and much more. There are also lots of shops selling Mexican hammocks, blankets, clothing, t-shirts, fireworks, pottery, jewelry and other typical tourist chochkes. The shops close at 6 pm. Fun exploring for treasures, and cheap prices for nice things, especially their leather goods.

We drove to the border, parked in one of the lots nearby and walked into Mexico with our friends visiting from Spain. We took a cab for $5 to Avenida Revolucion. The street has no charm unless you count the burros painted like zebras on every corner as charming. I had not been to Tijuana for 35 years and it... More

One of Tijuana's most popular attractions - restaurants, bars, taco stands, nightclubs, clothing stores - you'll get a real feel for the original border town...

Interesting strip of shops and restaurants. Mostly tourist traps with the same things but we ended up in a couple of good shops. If you are in the area this is a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

You basicly can find anything from great tacos, Carls Jr., souvenier shops and then great places that are popping up all over this street. Praga Café is a great example, they have a fabulous menu for lunch, delicious sandwiches, coffee, desserts and at night they have concerts. Across the street you have Cesar´s Restaurant which re-opened around 2-3 years ago,... More

We wanted to do the border crossing on foot, and did which was cool, and did the walk from the border to Avenida. We were surprised how undeveloped the walk was from the border to the Ave. Once we got there, we were surprised that it was only 3 or 4 streets and not very long, not many shopping options... More

This is the closest place from San Diego to have a taste of Mexico. At day-time, good for shoppers of souvenirs. Just be careful in price negotiation. They always give you higher price to start, but you can bargain. At nightime, this street turns into a big party place. you can go anywhere. dollars and mexican pesos are accepted. Lot's... More

We spent an afternoon in the middle of January in old Tijuana, Revolucion street. Lots of shops selling trinkets and food. You can virtualy buy anything there, We found a little restaraunt just off Revolution that served up some excellent food and drinks at a great price. If you can put up with the hustlers trying to drag you into... More

This street is good for a stroll and a few margaritas. I have no cell phone so the internet cafes were a godsend. Some Mexican style dollar stores kept the purchase of toiletries reasonable. Try the buffet at Sanborns for great value for your peso. Go off the beaten path to Zona Norte for even cheaper shopping and eats. Start... More
