Lots to see by boat, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Upwelling from deep in the sea of Cortez brings nutrients which support diverse sea life. The steep under water walls of the volcanic islands support diverse, beautiful, colorful life. It wasn't even crowded. Leave the all...More

While staying at the Barcello in Loreto we went on an excursion here. It was beautiful. So much marine life. There was a school of dolphins playing with the boat waves and we all got our fill of photos and video.

Took a boat ride around the island. Takes a bit of time to get there from Loretto but well worth it when you get a good close up of the animals.

The water is many gorgeous shades of turquoise, green and blue especially in the many coves that remind me of the movie The Blue Lagoon. Large variety of life under the surface makes for great diving and the rock formations are stunning as well. Swimming...More

At least there is one place on earth humans haven't mucked up. On the glass bottom boat tour we saw zillions of fish, seabirds and dolphins!

Cruising around the islands of Loreto Bay is beautiful. Great water, nice temperatures and interesting scenery. Snorkel, paddleboard, hike, fish... all great. Visit the deserted Salt Mining location on Carmen Island.

We stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe. It was clean, had a small kitchen, a patrolled parking lot, and was about $50 per night. Also the steak and seafood restaurant right next door was great.
