Not only is the history of the mission interesting with the founding year of 1697 imprinted above the door, but there are more interesting things than the Spanish mass time. Shortly after our arrival, the carillon bells delighted with Christmas carols, Jingle Bells, Silent Night,...More

We had a room facing the ocean with a sliding glass door that was just feet from the ocean - the view was amazing! I do wish the inside of the room was more updated, but it was very affordable. We received excellent service, including...More

A small community church providing an insight into the life of the catholic community of Loreto. The mission purports to be the first on the Camino Real trail. It has been rebuilt following an earthquake but in the style of the original. Worth seeing.

This is in the heart of Loreto and has a very interesting history. Take the time to read about it. This was the first mission in the area and is very old.

The padre's presence in Baja cannot be ignored. This mission, among others, is a massive example of the impact of the Spaniard's arrival on the Baja peninsula. To see the extent of the native's forced labor and involvement is unfathomable. The mission is a testimony...More

As per Mexican custom, this beautiful structure does not have fanfare or crowds or embellishment; the architectural details suffice, the grand scale interiors providing an understated elegance. Regrettably, I didn't have the opportunity to attend a mass here, but perhaps you may. Enjoy an outdoor...More
