We walked in on a very Grey rainy Saturday , the port was closed due to wind and storms. But the very friendly staff expected the following day that the weather would pass and to call them early in the A.M. which I did. I had a little difficulty getting through the phone lines, but the owners cell is listed... More

My wife and I – both avid and experienced divers – just returned from a multiday dive package arranged by the Carey Dive Center. Having dived all over the world, I can say without any hesitation this was the best dive operation I’ve ever experienced. As we explained to Gisel, our main contact and operations manager for the center, our... More

Diving with this company was great! They have a very nice clean dive shop with quality equipment-we were pleasantly surprised and happy. The idea was to scuba with Sea Lions and go out to Sea lion island (Los Islotes) in the morning, we were advised that there are strong winds especially in the January (winter) months. We ended up going... More

We knew when we signed that January is not the optimal time for diving in La Paz. The water is chilly and visibility is not as good as other times of the year. What we didn't expect was engine trouble. En route to Isla Espiritu Santo, the ponga stopped suddenly and couldn't be restarted. The dive company sent another ponga... More

I confirmed a dive, drove to La Paz from Cabo and showed up the day before the dive to find out they kicked me off the dive because there was a group that wanted to do a deep dive and I was only open water certified and they had to go with the weather. I cannot review the actual trip... More

We chose Carey dive bc we read that this dive company does not harass the wildlife, or encourage touching of the animals. Touching a whale shark harms their skin, so this is important to us. We booked a whale snorkel on one day, and the Espiritu dive the next. We saw several whale sharks, even though the visibility that day... More

I just spent a week at La Paz with a group of friends and we decided to go with Carey Dive Center. This was my first time at La Paz so I had no idea what to expect, once we got there the team at Carey did an awesome job to answer all our questions and explain what to expect... More

Great staff that went above and beyond to make our trip happen. Knowledgeable guides who are big on safety and also big on respect for the animals who frequent the waters of this part of the Sea of Cortez. We were honored to swim with a 45 foot whale shark named "Flavio" and we had him all to ourselves! Our... More

We chose this center because of the reviews; however, we are not divers. We wanted to visit Espiritu Santo and snorkel. When we walked in, there was a fitting of wet suits and that was it. There were no instructions to us and we were pretty well ignored the rest of the trip because we weren't divers. They didn't give... More
