Came here as part of a 'wine tasting and shopping' tour from Carnival cruise. Just some shops selling crappy stuff. If you want to buy trinkets, it's ok. Bargain like crazy if you buy anything. It's a shady area so we got back to the bus after half hour or so.

More shopping...shop after shop of the same items, and people trying to get you to visit, to drink their tequila, etc. Fun, and lots of activity, but the barking gets old pretty quickly.

Sort of sleazy feel to it. Didn't really feel all that safe. The shops sold the same kitschy "I went to Mexico" souvenir. It was just ok for me.

Same old stuff that they sold 40 years ago. All the curio stores selling twisted Corona bottles and ceramic frogs playing pool. I grain of rice with your name on it or the ten commandments and of course Oaxaca women with their babies strapped around them. If you have seen it once who needs to see it again. If your... More

You can tell most of their customers are dropped on their door step from the cruise ships. Good to get trinkets for souvenirs. Most are willing to bargain and cash is king.

This was an add on after a wine country tour with Carnival. This is our second time doing the Wine tour and it is wonderful. Our tour guide (female) dropped us in the shopping district directing us to a specific silver shop...stating that most of the others sold silver plate jewelry. $300.00 and 2 wearings later we have unwearable silver... Everything you look for on one street. From restaurants, bars to cute little coffee shops, tattoo shops and souvenir stores. I recommend going in the evening, maybe walk around a little bit and catch the night lights. It is quite the experience.

Beggars of all ages. Overpriced goods (junk) with aggressive vendors. Unfair exchange rates and hidden charges in the restaurants.
