Beautiful building that takes us back to the prohibition era

Opened as an hotel & casino this building has great decoration that takes us back to the 30s. Visit the several rooms and bars, fountains and yards. It is great for a quick visit.

While I have seen the beautiful elegant building during my many visits to Ensenada and I always wanted to see it... I finally have the chance not only to admire but learned its interesting history... It was built as a hotel the 1930 in a luxurious dramatic style right on the beach of Ensenada for its wealthy and famous American... More

Saw a very good guitar recital with a quartet of excellent players. Nice venue, easy access, and good artwork abound.

Visiting the Riviera Hotel and Casino is a must while you are there. The museum is not very interesting, but the price is pretty cheap anyway. I think it cost around 2 dollars per person. So it's worth it just to walk around more of the old hotel and casino. The exhibits are outdated and need to be renovated.

The building it beautiful and the history is colorful. Definitely didn't need a lot of time here to appreciate it for what it is. Never fails with vendors waiting for you, but their margarita was good!

Used as an event location for locals, this charming building is what's left from a prohibition casino and hotel complex for north Americans. Well worth a gander. Don't miss the original casino room rotunda with it's fantastic ceiling or the stunning wall paintings in the reception room just off of that painted by an artist who influenced muralist Diego Rivera.... When my husband and I first landed in Ensenada, we really were not very interested in attending the Cultural Center (CEARTE.) But nudging and invitations from friends helped us experience a wealth of great performances. Jazz concerts on the outdoor stage, dancers on the platform under the canopy and performances inside the building. Jazz concerts, beautiful dancers, Ensenada orchestra, performances... More

The cultural center has a nice little museum that for a couple bucks donations. It used to be a hang out from Frank Sinatra and friends. The grounds are beautiful, you will often see wedding photos being taken. they also have frequent special events, we prefer the 'foodie' ones, great place to stroll around and enjoy the fresh sea air...
