This three-hour-long train ride along the Bohinj railway will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience for any true rail enthusiast. The views of Lake Bled, passing through numerous gorges, crossing many tunnels, the longest of which measures 6,327 m (3.93 miles), never fail to impress. Make sure your cameras are at hand!

Trainride

The best train ride I had :) I like traveling with trains, but this old train is next level expirience, the program and landscape are very nice.

When visiting Slovenia, this excursion is a must if you enjoy hob-knobing with the locals and love cultural immersion. Maybe it was because we had a large group of local tourists, there was not much by way of english translation during the train ride, but when we disembarked the train for a tour of Brda, we had excellent, helpful and... Great trip on a historic train! Very picturesque was the participation of arch-duke Franz Ferdinand and his wife who opened the railway in a ceremony in Bled Jezero station. Also great boat trip on beautiful river Soča.

It's a great way to spend your Saturday by making new friends and seeing some of the beautiful parts of Slovenia while travelling on a steam train. There was an interesting animation of soilders on one of the train stops. We tried some of the amazing wines in Goriška Brda and saw the famous Vinska klet with lots and lots... More

Check and find time for this interesting railway trip. Old train travels from bridge to tunnel in a picturesque gorge from Bohinj to Baška grapa and to the famous Soča valley. Big problem is just one - it is not organised each month.

Over two hours each way of a journey through beautiful scenery, driving along three Alpine rivers, passing through long tunnels and impressive bridges with excellent service and entertainment stuff. Tickets are a little bit expensive, but worth it, to preserve the train. This is an experience not to be missed when staying at Bled, Kranjska Gora or around Bohinj lake.... More

Over three hours each way of a journey through beautiful scenery and long tunnels with excellent information and no little entertainment. This is an experience not to be missed. Steam enthusiasts, families and wine lovers can all readily enjoy this day out. The one very slight downside is Nova Gorica and Gorizia lack a little after the heights of the... More

Steam train which runs from Jesenice to Nova Gorica is a real must. Not only for old train lovers! It runs via valley Baška grapa which is very picturescue. Not only going by train! Train passes Bled , Bohinj and than goes through one of the longest tunnels in this part of Europe, arriving to Baška grapa. There are several... More
