About
The Grotte Forestière, finally a place of freedom, easy access (55 steps only) for all ages and even very young children, a natural cavity arranged for you to visit at your own pace in an original way, equipped with headlamps provided to each. The ability to take photos and stop the time you want to contemplate incredible tree roots and unique crystallizations in the shape of marine corals. Explanatory panels inform you intelligently about the underground environment. On the surface everything is done to take the time to live, with many wooden games, mini golf for visitors of the cave and fossil workshops for children. A snack, a shop and beautiful thematic walks start from the place.

Must visit! I did overcome my greatest fear.

Go here and visit this small but beautiful Grotte. Ideal with small childeren because you are not in a group and can walk on your own with a lamp.
I didn’t want to go in because I am very claustrophobic but the very nice man at the ticket office promised me that I would love it.
So I did, and he was right.
This is a real nice trip on your vacation to the Ardeche!

Close-up cave exploration with cap lights
Aug 2019 • Family
Among the numerous caves you can visit in the Ardèche, this one is quite special. There is no guide, there is no light in the cave, but you get equipped with a cap light. Friendly and knowledgeable staff which explains the basics, and then you are free to visit on your own, almost as a speleologist ;) of course the track is delimited and secured.

The cave is rather small, but you will find numerous beautiful spots. Truly unique is how close you can inspect the ceiling and the stone formations.

There is a nice shop offering ice creams and beverages. In addition kids can enjoy various games or a mini-golf (the latter for additional costs). Prices are rather fair.

Good morning activity
Aug 2019 • Family
Reasonably priced for a family visit. We arrived at 11am and was not too busy (Monday in the summer holidays). Could benefit from having some interesting lighting and audio describing some of the features (there was some written in French and we were given an English booklet).

Cold but very much worth the visit. The caves just offer fascinating views and always have a spooky feel over them
