A fun way to see the gorge, pedalling your own little car down the railtrack. A beautiful place and well organised. It's very popular and you have to book in advance, we went in the evening, which was perfect for a hot day.

In summer, should be booked in advance. Recommandation: make the "viaducs" tour early in morning (departure at 09:45) to enjoy the landascape . For lunch go to Café Marie in Lapras (15 min drive) and you will have time to visit ferme des Charaigniers and the village of Boucieu le Roi. Make the "étroits" tour in the afternoon (departure at... Travelled up from Ruoms in southern Ardeche to visit Boucieu-le-Ro, and do the "Routes of the Viaducs" in the morning, and then go on the Ardeche steam train on the lower part of the line in the afternoon. Your cart (which to me resembled a VW Beetle car) could seat 4-5 people, with 2 at the front peddling. The cart... More

This is a really fun trip in two parts. One part is a trip up the track on a historic train, which is also towing a fleet of pedal cars. The other part is riding the pedal cars back down the track. You do need to actually pedal the cars for most of the way because, although the track is... More

We booked well ahead for this (in March) and being British we booked for 8 o'clock before it got too hot. We got to Boucieu Le Roi well on time and were first through the ticket office. We didn't realise at first how fortuitous this was. We had been allocated the front car. When we left, my husband and teenage... More

We visited on a very chilly May morning but this was a unique experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. You travel in a "car" for 4 people and the 2 in front have to pedal. It's mainly downhill and there is a chance to change to a back seat after 6km. Lots of photo opportunities. You travel in convoy and... More
