We stayed here for two nights to fly our hot air balloon in nearly Pollone. I wasn’t prepared for the beauty of this place...it’s a spectacular setting...or the size of the place, which is more like a small town than a santuario! Loved sitting for...More

Well worth the visit but try to go during the week as it can be very crowded. Take warm clothes as you're up at nearly 4000ft just below the snow line. Wear good stout shoes as there is cobbled areas to walk on. Although there...More

Visited in March and had good weather so it was truly worthwhile. Had lunch at a restaurant near the top, walked around (lots and lots of steps), amazing views and visited the church where there is a Black Madonna. Because it was off season, it...More

Always nice to escape a little bit from Milano's crowded attractions and swarms of tourists. This place is a fresh breath of history and stunning views.

The main place is the Sanctuary. It was build among three levels. The upper has the large basilica, the others have an armonic architecture, quiet, mystical. I suggest a visit to the ex-voto gallery

We went ti Santuario di Oropa last 15th August .We were very disappointed. Basically its a collection of restaurants and bars, with nothing else to see. The church was closed for repairs. Definitely not worth the hassle.

The best way is of course by car, but there might be a shuttle from biella. You should look for line 360 from the train station. There you'll find the ticket office. For further info you can check the public transport... More
