We went with our kids looking for something off the beaten path in the Bahamas. We rented a house near Stella Marisa and had a car for the week. The island doesn't have a lot of developed infrastructure meaning no water system. So we were on a large rain barrel at the house. The roads in many places were really... More

We went to Long Island for the 3rd time to fly fish for bonefish on the beautiful flats on the sourthern end of the island. We had a great time in spite of some rainy and windy weather. Dwayne Knowles was our guide and he really knows his way around the flats and put us on the fish.

We rode bikes for hours. The coast line is so beautiful, pictures can not capture it all. There are more beaches on this 80 miles of island that it would take years to see them all. We were there in March and the wind and temp. was cool but it keep the bugs away.

Having moved from South Florida to Long Island, thirteen years ago, I feel as if I have stepped back in time to a place where everything is real and meaningful. Not only is Long Island stunningly beautiful with it's rocky, wild East Coast (Norside) and it's turquoise, calm 'Caribbean' Coast (Souside), but there is a different, solitary beach to visit... I rented a jeep and four of us traveled the more that 100 mile length of the island. (About 300 kilometers round trip. The locals were sooooooo nice that it took a long day to finish the journey.

Had a wonderful time on this island. Our first time to the Bahamas, we stayed in a fabulous place right on the ocean. This is not a place for being pampered at some all-inclusive resort, and it might be a little "rough and tumble" for some. The shuttle flight with Southern Air seems sketchy. One narrow road on the island... More

Our second year in a row. Stayed for 3 weeks and could have stayed longer. The whole place is low key and casual in the best way. Too many beaches to count. Snorkeling every day. Fishing was fabulous. Hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding and more.

This laid back island with very friendly people is a century back in time. There is only one narrow asphalt road that runs from one end of the island to the other. All branch roads to homes and other locations on the islandare quite rutty, rough surfaced. This is my third trip here and love this island. The main attraction... More

Knowing that we needed to see more of Long Island than "just" the paradise that is Cape Santa Maria, we joined in on the tour the resort offered. Breaking the magnetic spell that is Cape Santa Maria is harder done than said...it being an overcast drizzly day gave us the opening we needed to "escape" its confines ;) Travelling as... More

Everyone here was so friendly, we had a wonderful time. The natives wave "hello" to everyone who drives by! Could not have asked for more. I'm sure I don't have to testify to the natural beauty, just look at some photos and you'll be hooked.
