I'm partially sighted and got boat to arran from adrossan the ticket guy couldnt have been more helpful in purchasing ticket for my companion my brother as I'm visual impaired I wasn't able to show this on my bus pass as covid restrictions but showed him my train I'd and my medical bracelet so I was given a visual imapred ticket which I'm very grateful for and the journey was great the parking was terrible experience got told my disabled badge qualified me for a free space the ticket attendant on the way out said no I had to pay the £5

Day return,Was impressed with how professional all the crew where, the boat was very clean, however there wasn’t any hand sanitizer anywhere, especially after climbing the stairs from the car deck,(it’s impossible not to hold the hand rails). The return journey from Brodick,I was informed the ferry might not be able 2 dock at ardrossan due to bad weather,no updates during the crossing but luckily it was ok.obviously because of covid nothing on the boat was open.

Cant fault it

We had booked a return journey with car, both legs of the journey were efficient and service was good.
Cant fault the facilities onboard as the cafe has nice food but a tad overpriced and plenty of seating including a pet area.
The shop and bar was closed due to covid but we cant wait for new ferry to be ready as it will make such a difference!

We used the service for a three day visit to Arran. Booking was easy and the staff were excellent at helping us with positioning as we are blue badge holders

Confusing!

Not really a review this, but we followed the signs to Troon Harbour completely the wrong place 15 miles away from the correct departure point. I googled the issue to understand what the issue was to find that the ferry is going to move in the near future, temporarily, to Troon to allow refurb. of the Ardrossan terminal.

All good but the authority who is responsible for the ferry signage should cover up the Troon signs!

To start our holiday, after a long drive we were booked on to the ferry to Arran for 2 days exploring Arran. Our ferry came in but could not dock due to a technical problem. We were told there would be a short delay but 2.5 hours later told to go away and re-book. The next available booking was 5 days away, not much use when you have accommodation and restaurants booked for the next 2 nights. Finding accommodation for the night near Ardrossan at nearly 6pm was a nightmare so we took a very expensive ferry to Dunoon and eventually found accommodation there. As all ferries for the day were cancelled, there were hundreds of people in the same position. Appalled at the way Calmac just turned us all away and will ensure that I have a plan b when booking with them in future.

Don't book a return trip with CalMac as they won't honour the return leg.

Booked a return from Brodick to Ardrossan but CalMac wouldn't honor the return portion making me pay for another ticket to Brodick. Don't book return tickets as CalMac won't honour them. They then insulted me at the Ardrossan drive through when I complained. Not to mention their ferries are constantly cancelled.

Travel to Arran and return on safe, substantial and well organised carrier. Abundant, inexpensive parking , and synchronicity with bus service made our day trip straightforward.

We were disappointed that while the local travellers received an "island" discount on their fares while our "Saltire" travel cards "(for over 60's in Scotland) was not recognised on this carrier which is owned by the Scottish Government.
