We were staying 5mins away in Colintraive and thought why not visit. It’s amazing the location is great you walk around the grounds of a magnificent mansion and there is sculpture everywhere- you can also buy some. Kids aged 9 and 13 loved it which surprised us , take lunch and sit by the sea it’s in a stunning location

The other hidden gem of Argyll

We went to visit this wonderful sculpture park today. As my husband is registered blind and has very minimal sight, the host Karen offered to take us around. She generously gave us her time and drove us to the various sculptures explaining the background to them.
This is a superb addition to Scottish Art allowing people to wander freely in the stunning grounds for a very reasonable £5.
I cannot recommend it enough, and I will certainly return next year.
Thank you Karen.

Visit to park
Jul 2019
Interesting visit, a bit disappointed there were not so many exhibits as previously, a plus point is that there are now toilets in the house, maybe more visitors would be attracted if teas etc were laid on at weekends.

A gem in a beautiful place

We went here on a truly miserable day. Put on our kagools, waterproofs and with umbrella we wandered throughout the park. Truly amazing and in such a beautiful location. Well worth a detour.

Well worth the visit
Jul 2019
The sculpture park is set in beautiful grounds with wonderful trees,
around a magnificent (but private) house. The sculptures are scattered around the grounds and are all very interesting, and all for sale. The view from the shore is glorious and the sculptures are mixture of very abstract and very realistic. It was a very different place and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

A remarkable visit
Jul 2019
This was such a stunning experience. A remarkable view of the Kyles of Bute and a collection of sculptures nestling in all sorts of unexpected places in such a gorgeous setting. It was a real privilege to wander freely through the landscape and wonder what you were going to see next.

Wonderful

On arriving it is hard not be overly nosey about the house, the stained glass in the entrance hall is most unusual and very beautiful. Our greeting was friendly and informative and set a lovely tone for our visit.
There is no formal route around the garden so it is a little like exploring the unknown. There is lots to see in the garden and the grounds give one a reasonable walk. The vistas are amazing and that alone was worth the entrance fee.
Overall we were very pleasantly surprised at how big the exhibition was and how varied the whole garden was.
I look forward to returning again.

Anchored in bay and rowed ashore

Interesting morning looking around and finding the sculptures - a bit random and Archie biting at the lead to be let off. Cannot make my mind up about the place, was nice getting to see, but a must see exhibition I doubt.

Gorgeous

Spent a very happy couple of hours here. Some incredible works in a sublime setting. We came away real fans of a couple of artists and are researching the possibility of buying from one of them. Our ten year old daughter was enchanted to be shown around by our unofficial guide Heddy the dachshund ( even though this made our Westie a bit cross, heehee). This place is a real gem and deserves more recognition.

Sculptures plus gardens equals excellence
Aug 2017 • Couples
It may be out of the way - but isn't everywhere in Scotland - but it is so worth the journey - and isn't everywhere in Scotland. One of the most glorious places in the British Isles and a perfect backdrop to some really interesting sculpture. A lot of care has been taken with the placement of the works of art in the natural environment. And it works. The sculpture .... the gardens .... and that Loch and those mountains in the background. I can't recommend Caol Ruadh too highly. Take the road less travelled and you won't be disappointed.
