Beautiful walks

Easy to find and a great selection of different walks to go on. Probably the most popular is the short circuit to Burn O Vat. Its definitely worth a visit.

We walked round the Reserve on one of the guided walks (approx 6 Kms). It was very pleasant indeed and was easy walking with designated paths.

We had a wee walk to the Burn o vat excellent paths that are well looked after. Worth going to see. We then climbed up to the viewpoint over the loch. We took a quick walk to the loch but light was against us. Will definitely come back again and walk round the loch.

This splendid place is well signposted and easy to find. You take the B9119 off the A93 just to the west of Dinnet and the the car park is not far up the road on your left. There is a small visitor centre and a map shows the various walks you can take. We took the level path to the... More

We started our hike at the Burn O'Vat, which is an amazing place to start your visit. The hike around Loch Kinnard takes about 2 hours and it starts right across the parking lot from the Burn O'Vat. The path is well worn and easy to walk, with beautiful vistas to see, including a Pict stone monument/marker that was very... More

Had an overnight stop here with a lovely walk around the loch in the evening. Did the vat walk first thing in the morning which again was very pleasant and quite a surprise to see. Recommended for all especially young kids. Nice quiet spot at night. Just some mountain bikers with torches zooming through the woods in the dark.

We visited the Muir of Dinnet in September, which was probably not the best season for the wildlife, but we had a very pleasant walk around Loch Kinord and then up to the Burn O'Vat. The paths were well kept and the walking is generally flat around the lochs. There are a few slopes up to the Burn O'Vat but... More

We visited the Muir of Dinnet NNR during our stay in the Deeside area. We decided to visit it after visiting Braemar earlier in the day, but didn't realize how long it would take to hike area, so we wound up only taking the Loch Kinord Trail, and bypassed the other trails including the Vat Trail. The LT trail is... More

Enjoyed a lovely walk around the Muir of Dinnet. We started out on the yellow walk of 2.5 miles but because we tried to do it backwards (don't ask!) we got somewhat off track and ended up doing 6.6 miles instead! But what a beautiful 6.6 miles they were! Next time, though, I'd go the way they signposted and stick... More
