Interesting Place To Visit.

Whilst visiting the Tuesday market at St Dogmaels, we wandered into the Coach House Museum and cafe where we had a nice cappuccino sat outside in wonderful sunshine. The Gallery has paintings and other art work, gifts on display and the staff were very friendly and chatty.

The Coach House provides the main way into the Abbey site and after visiting I was thinking about lunch when I noticed a most interesting open pie & on enquiry was told that it was known locally as a Homity Pie and the principal ingredients were Leeks and Potatoes cooked together. Not being a great fan of leeks I was a little doubtful but tried it sitting outside in fine sunshine and I have to state that without doubt that this will from now on be a favourite. While I cannot vouch for what else was available Homity Pie and the very pleasant staff of the Coach House will make this a must visit when next I am in the area.

Well worth a detour
Sep 2017 • Couples
Excellent small museum and coffee shop in the grounds of an historic ruined abbey. Early construction predates the Normans and the museum contains carved mediaeval stones. Beautiful setting in the tiny village of St Dogmaels. Food is fresh, local and delicious and the service is friendly. We visited several times and had lovely baked goods, soup and quiche- generous portions! In between the abbey and village pond a small but first class farmers' market takes place on Tuesday morning - treat yourself to a tasty treat or locally produced meat and fish. Well worth a detour if you are in the area.

Good range of snacks and drinks in a friendly cafe with tempting options on the menu. Check out the daily specials on the chalkboard for seasonal choices.

Great spot for lunch or tea and Welsh cakes

ThIs is located just below the abbey and across a very narrow road from the Y FELIN mill. So you can see them all including the historic Blessing stone in a morning
You wouldn't come here just for one of them. Very picturesque place lovely to walk around and on Tuesdays they have a lovely market bought some great cheeses.

Just one room!

Some interesting things and free books, but it is very, very, small. There are some friendly ducks and a chicken just across the road :)

Great place for a book launch

We visited the Coach House last Saturday evening for a special event and thought the place put on a lovely 'do'. The staff, food and atmosphere were all just right for the celebration. I highly recommend this place for a visit or as a venue for a special occasion, it has a really good vibe.

Lovely cafe, craft shop and historic location rolled into one!
Aug 2015 • Family
Stayed about 8 miles from here but saw it on trip advisor and well worth the trip for the cafe, (free) museum, arty craft shop and (free to enter) abbey ruins rolled into one fantastic place. Delightful cafe which really is frequented by the locals. Modern eco-feel gallery with some fantastic (if pricey) art work on display. Shop in the cafe sells lovely jewellery and local art pieces. Had a very nice breakfast and then a wandered through the interesting abbey ruins. The location is lovely St Dogmael is a beautiful village. Really can't recommend this cafe/area highly enough.

A lovely little museum
Apr 2015 • Family
This little museum is connected to the cafe, it has some interesting items with excellent educational descriptions. It is disabled friendly too which is nice as my mother who came with us has mobility problems and was able to look round without any issues. A great place to combine with a visit to the cafe or abbey.
