It was a fantastic adventure to see the swimming pigs and the other adventures as well but we felt a little rushed and didn’t have enough time with the pigs like we had hoped. We toured several Bahamian islands and along the way we stopped at several different spots such as; Iguana island, Thunder Ball Grotto, a secluded cave then to the pigs and then we had lunch at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club which was included in the package deal. We thought (hoped) that since the pigs were our last stop that we’d have more time with them but we didn’t which was rather disappointing and especially after the hefty price we paid for the package deal. The guides that drove the boat were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful but the only complaint we had was that we all felt a bit rushed through each adventure. We’d definitely do something like this again but only at a lower price/smaller group.

It was cool. But please beware! These pigs are huge and they do bite! I was bit very badly in the posterior. Had to follow up with visit to urgent care and antibiotics. My daughter was traumatized. Very scary. Always pay attention especially if you have food in your hand.

Wonderful experience! When booking, be aware that many trips are cancelled, owing to weather conditions (mainly wind) for boat trips. Our trip was cancelled twice. We then booked independently, and flew in with Flamingo Airlines. They had very old, tiny planes, but did the job and it was only a 25 minute flight (as opposed to 90 - 120 minutes by boat).
The best time to go is in the morning, as it is quieter and a more personal experience. The afternoons bring boat trips and many tourists.
The pigs are friendly and very quick to swim out to the boats for snacks.
This experience really is a must!

This is more hype than amazing. But there is not a whole lot in Staniel Cay so go. Bring food. Get some carrots at the store. Watch out for the larger pigs as they can bite.

If you've never seen pigs before or have kids this could be really exciting but otherwise it was only ok. You can feed the pigs fruits/veggies/bread but be careful because they can get a little excited about the food. We went without a guide and had no issues. The beach itself is gorgeous but I would not go to the exumas just for this but if you're in the area, is a cute stop.

We came to great Exuma largely because of the swimming pigs. We really enjoy snorkeling, and thought we would be able to find reasonable snorkeling on this vacation. We were mistaken.

As for the pigs, they were interesting, but were really more "pigs hanging out on a beach" than they were swimming pigs. Yes, we did see some swim, but for the most part we interacted with the pigs on the beach. Perhaps the reason for that was that our tour arrived in the early afternoon, and the pigs may have been more likely to swim earlier in the day.

Certainly if you are coming to the area, see the swimming pigs. Just don't plan your entire trip around them.

Hard to wrap my head around how two guys (staff)can spend full days on a beach, look at all the garbage and do nothing...! A shame, and that’s not saying it as I would like. Hit No Name Cay in the Abacos, infinitely better.

An amazing place to stop over night on your own yacht. Early in the morning or late in the afternoon dinghy over to the beach and get the excitement of swimming with the pigs (alone). It is fun to be there away from the crowds (which arrive a little later in the morning). The pigs tend to come out to your boat once you are close enough to the shore; bring some carrots - they love it.

Same thoughts as the Thunderball grotto. So many tour groups are here all day long that it has just become a big circus. Uncaring adults pick up the baby pigs just for their Instagram pictures. Tourists giving the pigs things that aren’t healthy for them and don’t care about their well-being. Because of this the pigs have gotten more aggressive and as a result more people are being bitten - because more people are being stupid. I’ve been a few times and more and more I stay away from the crowds and just observe the madness.

Go with a guide. This is a must for animal lovers! For example, don’t pick up and cuddle baby pigs if you’re scared of getting a little poop on you-they’re wild animals and they’re not potty trained for tourists in string bikinis.

That said...my family loved sharing food and love with these beach denizens. They are happy, sweet animals that deserve respect.
