My husband and I enjoyed our visit to the distillery. The Piña Colada sample was delicious. It’s really awesome that they hand pour, label, and package their own product. I would recommend the rum tasting after the tour as well if you like liquor. My husband liked the amber rum the best.

We walked in to the distillery with no reservation on a Tuesday afternoon and were greeted by a sweet, friendly gentlemen with pina colada samples. He have us a short tour of the distillery and history which ended in the gift shop and bar area. We wore masks during the tour, and it was hot outside but cool indoors. We had some rum samples in the bar area as well as the BEST pina coladas we have ever had! We tried to visit the Straw Market area, but everything was closed due to COVID. We were very happy to have found this place and get a little taste of the island's history and rum. Would recommend!

Being an "everything about rum" lover I must say the visit to the beloved Caribbean islands wouldn't be complete if I didn't finally, after 3rd trip to Bahamas, if not for the visit to a Bahamian rum crafter! Maybe I underrated the Bahamian rum at first, thinking that since they don't grow and probably can't grow its own sugar cane despite being such a big country would translate to not as rich of an experience... I was very wrong. The last time we had such an "elegant experience" of visiting a rum distillery was Barbados, and that in my book speaks volumes! I always find it interesting how every rum tour adds something new to my memories; here the tour was more about the family who owned the property and aimed at this particular Bahamian and Bahamian only rum location - kudos to them to build an experience around something they stand for rather than provide you another set of "how rum is made" which is great but for a person who has been to about 15 rum distilleries/factories it was refreshing, especially to my always understanding and loving her husband wife :)))) Where this experiences shined the most in particular was the tasting part - you don't get chased or pressured to hit one after another; from the beginning you decide if you want to for for 3 or 4 samples (inclusive of their highest priced product) for $15 - pleasantly surprising we were allowed to order 1 set of 4 and share them too, a very welcome surprise to my wife who doesn't like rum but wanted to fully experience the place and what it has to offer! We opted also for the 5th glass which was sugar cane vodka (extra $3) - we weren't crazy about but being Polish I never liked vodka in the first place so maybe it's just me. The rum on the other hand was very nice. We took a bottle with us home - I highly encourage you to get it here, I am not affiliated nor did I get $ from the company but I simply collect rum bottles from every place I visit and buying here was absolutely cheapest I found, including the airports so buy it here rather than overpay about $10 if not more at other locations. Do come here, do enjoy the samples on the open air patio - it wasn't my favorite rum ever, though still nice, but it was probably the nicest sampling experience I had ever - hats down to you Bahamas, to you John Watling's Distillery! TIP: the tour is free (cash for tipping of course), the sampling and buying in the gift store is fine with a credit card. Plenty of parking on a private, gated property - which is also a very big and beautiful place.

While on a cruise I decided to do a tour of Nassau. We stopped at John Watling's and it was a great time. The rich history, the delicious rum and the picturesque backdrop provided a great time. The cocktails were refreshing and delicious. I'd certainly go back for more cocktails and to purchase rum to take home.

We stopped here as part of a tour. It was really good and you are able to try the rims at the end. They also make a delicious vodka which we had to buy a bottle of to take home!
