a good way to get around

found it a good cost for the service but wish they had a schedule as you sit around a long time until the Captain fills the boat so you could sit on the boat for 30 minutes waiting

They post their schedule as ever half hour but they won't go if the boat isn't loaded. The first time we took it a fellow named Scratchy came on board and gave us some history about Paradise Island - he apparently didn't work for the Water Taxi and took tips. The second time we took it a different non-employee went... More

Had 2 ferry rides- Scratchy was great as an entertainer/informant. Very easy trip, decent price (maybe a little much?) but more fun getting to Paradise Island this way over walking & taxi.

The ferry to Paradise island started behind the Straw market from downtown Nassau. It is $4 per person one way, about 8-10 mins ride. A guy talked the history of the island and pointed to a few celebrities' houses along the way and collected some tips at the end. It seems to be run by a private company. We waited... More

If you are adventurous and not a Type A person, this can be a fun experience - once. As has been noted previously, the boats are in rough shape and not at all organized. The trip is enjoyable once because you get to see the harbor and the cruise ships up close. The "guide" is a local fellow who talks... More

This is the most fun you can have for$4 in Nassau and paradise island. Sometimes not always to schedule but so much a part of the local culture when you get the narrated trip, and it gets you from point a to point b.

This is a good, cheap way to get to and from Paradise Island but they do tend to load up the boats and if you're on early you may sit a while. Sometimes you get an independent tour guide but the spiel is worth a buck.

Says it is every 30 minutes - they go when they want to. Says it is glass bottomed boat - ramshackled old boats with no glass bottom $4 each way which is cheap but they ask for a tip at the end, presumably for their "talk" on board A bit of a walk to Atlantis and not well signposted. It... More

Okay, so as in other reviews, you do have to wait until the boat fills up before taking off, but you can sit in the boat and enjoy the fresh air and views until you take off. You are not in traffic or listening to beeping cars. No safety that I noted, no life preservers or rings or any kind... More

My family wasted an hour waiting for them to leave. There were about 20 people on the boat and no sign of we were leaving the dock anytime soon. My husband demanded his money back, and had to argue with them to get it. The rest of the group with us also demanded their money and we all took a... More
