We had such a great time visiting the Straw Market. A must if you visit Nassau! So many vendors to check out! My teenager loved finding unique treasures from the Caribbean!

Expect to be hounded by the people that have a pile of stuff to sell in this market. You can haggle with them over the price and they expect you to. The management needs to go through this place and do some serious cleaning.

This market has a lot to offer but a little too crowded for me and prices not too reasonable for my pockets.. ladies were friendly enough but hard to focus to shop!

Easy walk from the port. Lots of flea market type of cheap souvenirs. High pressure from locals to look at their items and purchase. Barter over everything for good deals. If there’s something you really want, wait until the cruise ship is about to leave...More

Definitely a good place to come for cheap souvenirs! There’s a lot of restaurants near here, a McDonald’s if you want a quick lunch. The only thing was this is a prime place to be targeted as a tourist. We were not left alone by...More

Covered market with small walkways and vendors with a ton of cheap goods! As the vendors want you to buy, they will give you some pretty good deals, so just ask! We got some cute earrings, a magnet, and some Bahamas wallets. Save some cash...More

I visited the Straw Market twice June 2. The hours of operation posted on the website were 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. However, my group arrived around 10 or 10:30 a.m., and most of the stalls still weren't open. We went back around 5:30 with...More

I enjoyed shopping here for souvenirs. The people are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. If you aren’t interested just say “no thank you” and they will leave you alone. It’s really fun haggling the prices. They have any kind of souvenir you...More

Not sure about the church, but I do recal there being one up the hill. If it's that one, it's less then a 10 min walk from the market.

It's a very short walk, almost just outside the port.

As soon as you port there is a market. And you can walk off/on board all day if you like. Or grab a cab to the beach for $2 a person Atlantis is also $2-3 cab per person.
