No trip to Nassau is complete without coming through the Straw Market for a shopping trip for souvenirs. A slight warning, some of the vendors are a little more aggressive than some people are use to so a quick “no thank you” should work.

It’s was so congested and a complete tourist trap. The booths all sold basically same things and the attendants wouldn’t let you just look on your own. Anything you buy you don’t get a receipt for customs so there’s really now point. Save your time...More

I love the Straw Market, but look around first. This is a great place to bargain and come away with some awesome gifts. It appears everyone is selling the same thing but there is that diamond in the rough!!

Every booth had the same thing but with different vendor. Good to support locals but as souvenirs gifts. Nothing spectacular

I found straw market somewhat creepy! We only did one section which was the wood section although it also had clothing. Peeked in at other sections and they all looked the same. Small isles, with booths that are all the same. Vendors attack you begging...More

Went here to get some tshirts and caps as souvenirs, they were cheap but the hassle from all the vendors was very off putting. Couldn’t walk anywhere and just look around without being shouted at to look at someone else’s stall. The best items we...More

It's a very short walk, almost just outside the port.

As soon as you port there is a market. And you can walk off/on board all day if you like. Or grab a cab to the beach for $2 a person Atlantis is also $2-3 cab per person.
