The books are still in there.... lovely building. No notice for explanation. Odd for a Commonwealth country not to value the access to books & move them elsewhere in the interim.

The authentic Nassau old time haunt; Three stories containing artifacts, historical books, in this once upon a time jail. Great views from upstairs windows.

This is truly unique. Don't leave Nassau unless you visit this unique contradiction: A jail that has become a place of education, relaxation, and a museum.

We popped our heads in this tiny library and it was amazing. The structure was once a colonial jail, dating back to 1797, when it became the first building in Parliament Square. Per Wikipedia, "The building is said to have been inspired by the Old...More

My wife and I enjoyed a nice vacation in Paradise Island, Bahamas. We went to the Nassau Public Library & Museum. The library is the largest library in the Bahamas.
