I arrived at about 1pm and the beach was nearly empty! If you like a quiet beach this would've the spot. If you will be staying for long it would be best to bring all of your beach gear. There is a gas station nearby for nibbles and drinks.

We went here in the late morning after our flight arrived. We were the only ones on the beach. No waves in sight and the sand was cleaned daily. Locals come here in the evenings to wind down. I would def come back to this beach with my young children. There is a playground, clean bathroom and outside fresh water... More

It was a nice change of pace to visit this beach. Quiet, clean and clear waters. Not the best snorkeling but you might find a few fishies here and there by the rocks. (And crabs) There is a rest room at this beach, but not much vendors. (Which is how I prefer it.) So if you plan on staying here... More

We toured Nassau by way of Carnival Valor. When we got off the ship, found our way to information booth....from there picked up #10 bus from city for $2 per person.....stumbled upon Saunders beach...had entire area to ourselves essentially...beautiful, white sand, crystal clear....public transportation easy to use!

Saunders beach has beautiful views of out islands, lots of sand, beautiful crystal waters for swimming, there are benches in shade if that's your preference, the water here is very calm so swimming and floating and snorkeling are great, there is a small rock jetty for the little tropical fish to hang around. They also have rest rooms, a fresh... More

The beach really needs attention. There was trash on the beach. Most of it was coverd with kelp, seaweed and see grass. One area you could not even get in the water as it was filled with kelp etc. The play ground for kids was nice and the bathrooms were very clean.

I stayed in a local cottage just 100m back from Saunders beach. Went out to the beach several times. The only time it was semi-crowded was on Sunday afternoon. Almost every other time, there was hardly anyone there. This beach has several rock inlet coves that are roped off for swimming. There are no additional watersports, like sailing or kayaking,... The beach is beautiful, clean and apparently good for fishing although I caught nothing :( Camped overnight at the free camping rest area, BBQ facilities are great. Toilets adequate for needs and an outside cold shower with a couple of taps. Great kids playground and picnic area... 24 hours stop only allowed but that's just enough... Recommend fully!

Stumbled onto this beach by accident...was quite pleasantly surprised...no tourists were on this beach, just a handful of locals. Great crystal clear turquoise water, white sand and serenity. (Found a ton of colorful and unique shells on this beach as well)
