Our second visit to Caneel Bay Resort and we still enjoy the 4pm tea. It's outdoors and uphill but the trolley can drop you there if you prefer not to walk. The snacks are refreshing drinks, strong coffee, assorted cookies and scones with generous spoonfuls of fresh lemon curd. We watched a hermit crab in the shrubbery and three ferrets... More

The place was decent but the food was too salty. Significantly salty, which surprises me because I like salt a lot in my food. Pricey, which automatically raises the bar. Food wasn't that good for the price. For the price it's relatively bad actually. I do not recommend it unless Zozo's and the main restaurant at caneel bay are fully... More

Best Maine scallops ever! Although the menu featured foods from the US, preparation was impeccable. We were happy to see this venue used more frequently this trip, it had often seemed like an "overflow " dining space in the past ten years.

We were staying at Caneel Bay and had dinner at Turtle Bay on our last night. We had also dined here last year but the food this time seemed much better than we remembered. My partner had the duck and it was a beautiful good sized but lean portion, which was beautifully presented. I had an artistically designed and delicious... More

This beautiful restaurant at Caneel Bay, one of the world's best beach resorts, was fine until the food came. Some dishes, including scallops and tenderloin were good but nothing special. Others, including the lobster ravioli, were mediocre and two appetizers, the fish fritters and the lobster bisque, were simply inedible. The soup was filled with salt and oddly contained no... More

My wife and I had dinner last night at the Turtle Bay State House and the food was simply outstanding. The ambiance was great and the staff and service was very attentive and pleasant. We also get a complementary taste of an appetizer from the Chef while having a drink in the beautiful veranda. Our favorite was the Caribbean Chowder... More

Since its low season in Saint John now, this place is only opened once a week, a Sunday. It was the day we landed and even from the short time we were there we heard a lot of great things about this place so we quickly made a reservation for hat night. It was more formal than all the other... More

I'll be honest. I didn't dig it. I read a couple of the other reviews before typing this. One person mentions an old timey feel. Yeah I could see that. It just felt very stuffy to me. The food was good and the service was very attentive and it's not like one of those places where they comb your crumbs... More

The Turtle Bay Estate House is definitely the best restaurant on St. John. If you are staying on St. Thomas, it is worth the ferry ride over! The charming ambiance takes you back in time. The views from the historic stone building, perched up above Turtle Beach, are gorgeous. And to top it all off, the menu is just perfect.... More

My wife and I dined at the Turtle Bay Estate House during our week long stay in February 2015. This is the fine dining for the Caneel bay resort. While the food and service were very good we were disappointed by: 1) The furnishings, chairs, table were quite run down. 2) The dress code was not enforced. A number of... More
