We rented a vacation home in the hills above Coral Bay and had a very special time. Coral Bay and the beaches in the surrounding area are undeveloped and unspoiled. There is word of a very large planned marina for Coral Bay and a local...More

This is the place to go if you don't want crowds but do want great snorkeling and hiking. The restaurants are few but very good. Not much shopping, but that's how we liked it!

Just go you will not regret the trip at all!!!Just head into Cruz bay, stop at uncle joe's chicken and ribs and start your trip from there. Only a handful of roads, shake and bake the island. You'll see what I mean. Have fun!!! Steve

Coral Bay is laid back, quiet, beautiful, convenient and the best part of the island. There are plenty of places to eat and shop and you are close to a lot of great snorkeling and sunning beaches. Why put up with the craziness of Cruz...More

Some people love the many restaurants and shops in Cruz Bay but we much prefer a quieter vacation so Coral Bay is perfect for us. There's no hotel so the best thing is to rent a house on VRBO or another site. There's no sand...More

Highly recommend a sail with Darin on Poet's Lounge. He is an excellent captain and host. St. John is an amazing place and even better when you experience it from the water.

Coral Bay is the happening part of the east end, not nearly as populated as Cruz Bay but still offers good food and amazing views in a more secluded setting. Rent a Jeep to get here and simply park alongside the road to enjoy short...More

We aren't party people, so Coral Bay and the East End hold more appeal than Cruz Bay for us. We were drawn to the nearness to nature, snorkeling and peace that are perfect in Coral Bay.

We visited Coral Bay and the other beaches close by with a 4x4 . The area seems more laid back than most and less touristy. You can spend quite a bit of time here and still not visit all there is to see.
