They say the "townies" never visit this small town on the east side of St. John. It is quiet and small and the only souvenirs are the beachwear and beach supplies. Not to mention, the road is curvy and steep to get there, Even though it is less than 8 miles to get there, it is a half hour drive... More

It would be a shame to simply remain in Cruz Bay when visiting St John, USVI. Coral Bay has a TON to offer as well and is Well Worth the Treck Across the Island. Recommended!

My husband and I stayed on Coral Bay in an AirBNB for 3 nights. We wish we stayed longer. We are in our early thirties and prefer more of the quiet areas with less tourists. It's about 20-25 minute drive from Cruz Bay. We rented a Jeep in St. Thomas and then took the car ferry (paid $50 for round-trip... More

If you prefer to stay away from the hustle-and-bustle (often more touristy) side of places, then you should choose the Coral Bay side when vacationing in beautiful St.John. Just rent a jeep when you arrive and make your way to Coral Bay - a 20 minute ride away. This side is where many of the locals (and expats) live. You... More

We visit St. John fairly often and spend most of our time near Coral Bay. Very quiet and slow compared to the hustle and bustle of Cruz Bay. Close to beaches and hiking trails. The property we stay at is called Coral Cove and it's a slice of heaven that is very easy to get to, and unlike many properties... More

Beautiful bay with great rentals (see House of Open arms) and very nice beaches very close by. Well worth seeking a rental on this end of the island.

Hubby and I vacation here as often as we can. It takes a little more effort, but the rewards are big. Laid back, quiet, and friendly, Coral Bay has a lot to offer. North Shore beaches are a short car ride away, but great beaches and hiking are also in the Coral Bay Area. Great restaurants - Indigo, Skinny Legs,... More

Skinney Legs is such a fun place to have lunch. Tons of local residents eat here and it is fun talking to them about life on the island. Great colada's and burgers! Actually all of their food is good. Great little souvenir shops are attached to the restaurant! A MUST!!!

We took a drive towards Annaberg Plantation and what coastline views of the Island. We saw lots of Donkeys eating on the side of the road. The surrounding areas are great watch out for the Columbo Smoothie stand you'll run into it.
