Nice environment for a carefree stroll. Well manicured, clear of debris and/or litter. Botanic elements labeled nicely; some unique and beautiful varieties. A small cemetery on the grounds for those that like perusing headstones. A short walk from the Hilton, though the hill back up...More

I visited the Royal Botanical Gardens on my first trip to Trinidad in 2015. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though I didn't actually visit it this time, I did take the time to ride by to simply view the perimeter.

The gardens are neatly trimmed, free from litter and full of attractive trees and bushes. Most flowers are kept in spaces that were not accessible to us. Entrance is free, but on a weekday afternoon we were still almost alone among visitors. Signage is generally...More

Lovely place just north of the Savannah and next to the zoo. Good for picnics or just a stroll. Gates close at 6, quite literally, I almost got locked in.

It's not large by any standards but still beautiful and quiet, perfect for a retreat though it's not that far from the madding crowd. Bring a picnic blanket so you can sit and eat while taking in the surroundings although there are a few benches,...More

Not huge, but something to do, while in Trinidad. The botanical gardens are in a park setting just over the road from the savannah. Cool walk, surrounded by all the trees. Not fantastic, but ok.
