Lucked out today. Following several dry days no rain and no cloud at the top! Clear views of Antigua, Redonda, Monserrat and Guadaloupe!! Tough hike with some climbing up tree routes in places with the aid of rope. We went with a guide, Nichael and was worth the cost. Enjoyed it but take plenty water!

My girlfriend and I decided to do this hike during an afternoon visit to Nevis whilst working aboard a cruise ship. We had made several calls to this port previously and had decided it was time we venture up the infamous peak of Nevis. The hike itself was enjoyable, however if you are looking for a scenic mountain hike this... More

My wife and I did this climb a couple days after a large rainstorm which lasted the better part of a day. It was a very muddy climb but I would always expect it to be that way. We did it without a guide much to the chagrin of our hotel but we have experience doing rough hikes at home.... More

I loved climbing this mountain because its just perfect for getting exercise . But you have to be prepared so bring water , hats , extra sunscreen and a guide and you will be prepared for anything! And remember that when you get to the top it will be so rewarding!

Baba & Nichael were our guides. Meet at the Gingerland police station... Quite a rough road to the high point of the car track. Hot and humid in the forest, plus occasional rain. It would be very tricky to keep to the route without a guide and some significant drop offs through the undergrowth. Many, many fixed ropes which were... More

A group of 10 of us had a guided hike. We kept a easy to moderate pace, and made it without too much struggle. It was a very clear day and incredibly beautiful all the way up. When you make it empty and fill your water bottle. The water from the "source" tastes amazing.

After reading several reviews about whether to take a guide or not I decided to give it a go without. My nephew (19) and I (40) started off in the morning and we are in average shape. The signs behind the Gingerland Police station point you in the right direction, but you've got to pay attention and look for them.... More

First, went online to see a few folks say that one does not need a guide on this hike. On what planet? Being in good shape and with my brother in law who is also a big hiker, we figured guide was optional. Wrong. Reggie, our guide, is awesome and instrumental in our success AND enjoyment in getting to the... More

We hiked with Gailey. He did a great job as a guide. I can see where some may want to save a few bucks and try to hike it alone, but I would recommend paying the fee for the guide. They know the trail inside and out and can add a lot of color to your hike. We had clouds... More

We started near Peak Haven (after ignoring warnings from both resort staff and our taxi driver not to do this without a guide). Coming up on the Peak Haven side, there's what looks like a trail heading straight up the mountain right before the Peak Haven parking lot. That's not the trail - ignore it, walk through the Peak Haven... More
