Our visit to Pedro St.James was very relaxing and informative. The plantation house is beautifully restored. You can easily imagine what it was like to live there in the 1800's. The movie presentation was air conditioned, informative, and fun. The poster board presentations in another bldg . gave an excellent history of the Cayman Islands. We really enjoyed this site.

It's just a normal old house with a garden - pretty ridiculous considering the historical stuff Europeans are used to. However, with the right expectations you can go and enjoy it. Like many places, they advertise the tourist price at around double the price charged for locals. You are pointed towards a 'theatre' presentation which is pretty funny - a... More

Was a little disappointing, with not much to see. Save your time and money for elsewhere. Site was small, but the site pleasant enough. Not for those who are not history buffs or seeking the roots of Grand Cayman.

The building was more like a house than a castle but there is plenty to look at and a lot of information is available. There is also a theatre show which was quite fascinating to watch and it too was full of information. A pleasant couple of hours.

Beautifully restored historic home on Grand Cayman. Mansion made primarily of mahogany wood, which is Cayman's national tree. Well kept by tour guides. Expect to spend time here...the tour guide was quite long winded!

This is a must see. The tour of the site begins with a theatre presentation, prefaced by what seems to be an endless simulated rainstorm. The history of the house encapsulates the history of the Cayman Islands, which is well described by the rest of the presentation. The house itself, which has been lovingly restored, is quite interesting. The tour... More

Worth the time as you can step back in history for a nominal fee. Aside from the main house, there is an awesome theater where the film being shown provides the history of the house as well as the island as a whole. You must see this.

Really enjoyed our afternoon at Pedro St.James. The staff was very informative and entertaining. The theater presentation was a pleasant surprise, be prepared for the rain. For a history buff with little background knowledge, others then the fact that 1503 was the beginning, I enjoyed the presentation and the venue.

An interesting historical site for the Cayman people. As others have mentioned, the first part of the theater presentation is a multi-media presentation complete with video, audio, stage dramatics and an indoor rain storm to help tell the tales. If you are expecting a high-tech or state of the art presentation, you will be disappointed, but the techniques employed do... More

Beautifully restored and maintained plantation house and grounds used in the first governance of Cayman. Excellent interactive guided tour of house. The movie presentation is pseudo high tech, but far too long. Crammed 5 minutes of information into a 30-40 minute presentation. You sit through a 10 min simulated thunderstorm at the beginning. Most of us were micro napping before... More
