Nice hike (unless you are afraid of snakes)

We chose the 55 minute hike, which took about 40 minutes. I read several reviews and some said they saw snakes and some not, and some said there aren't any snakes on the island. Well, yes there are, and we saw a lot of snakes (maybe 8-10). They are brown snakes, and not poisonous, but there were several. Also saw... More

We took the 2nd trail as recommended by previous reviews ... Good call as it is much shorter ... Rated as 25 mins but only took us 20 mins at a leisurely pace. A little steep at the start but gets better after the first five minutes. BTW the only parking is on the side of the road. Concept of... More

My teenage son and I hiked the summit of Gorda Peak in about 50 minutes from the upper trail head where the sign suggests 25 minutes. We were absolutely not disappointed. The trail is steepest at first, but it quickly gets flatter. Lots of interesting flora and fauna on the easy hike up. Hummingbirds, strange orange beetles, spiders with webs,... More

Despite living in the BVI for more than a decade this trip was my first time on the Gorda peak and trail. The potential here is immense but poor and non Existent signage leaves a lot to be desired. While I think I made it to Gorda peak I have no idea since I saw nothing indicating the summit. Multiple... More

There are two hiking trail, one marked 55 minutes, the other 25 min. We took the short route and it only took us 15 min. Quite a steep hike in spots. There is a platform at the peak with several ladders to the top. 360 degree view.

We took the second entrance. The most (though not very) difficult portion of the trail is at the beginning. At a leisurely pace, we walked for about 20 minutes along the mostly shaded path to reach the viewing stand at the top and embrace the magical view. We encountered no one else until we met one other couple during our... More

There are 2 entrances off the main road...I believe the one closer to Leverick Bay is the shorter one...just pull off to the side of the road. The hike is most strenuous at the beginning..views for the lookout tower at the top are amazing...

Not sure this is truly a 5 star hike compared to all the hikes of the world, but it was the perfect diversion from another day at the beach. 25 minutes up to a tree house like platform with a spectacular view of everything. We did not find the bugs bothersome, though we were wearing picaridin which seems to work... More

My family and I decided to take a Christmas Day hike to the top of Virgin Gorda Peak to get some exercise and it was time well spent. It is not a difficult hike to the top. The rise is fairly gentle and not to steep. However, it is hike that you don't want to do in flip-flops because part... More
