Nature at it's best as there are ancient rainforests and white beaches at Apple Bay and Smugglers Cove. Taken on an escorted Tour of the Island and saw some wonderful sights all the way around the island so it was worth seeing.

Winding high narrow roads through lush vegetation. Great views from bar at high point of road. Most of the Islands few attractions can be seen from road. Our driver pointed them out with interesting historical facts.

We always look for private trips when going ashore via a cruise ship, and we definitely weren't disappointed in Tortola. Part of the trip was through Ridge Road and it was delightful.

Driving is the Caribbean is a different experience, it's common knowledge that you drive on the left, but what really makes the situation interesting is that most vehicles are left-hand drive. It feels a bit odd to be situated on the outside of the driving lane instead of the inside, but, after making a few right-hand turns across traffic you... More

The views from Ride Road are spectacular. From the highest peak on Tortola you can look down to the stunning bays with their sailing vessels, amd also spot surfers out ready to ride. The vegetation is lush and the flowers beautiful.

The road is hilly and windy, a little steep in places, but gorgeous views are around every corner. Not much in the way of traffic during the slow season (August and September). Not much open either, but a beautiful drive.

I took taxis for 3 days before deciding to try my hand at driving on the "correct" side of the road over these mountain passes. I am from New Hampshire, so various road conditions are nothing new, but this was a trip! I don't know that I have anything to complain about when I go home! The twists and turns,... More

We drove all over Tortola and found the roads to be quite unlike anything we've seen before. Very few street signs exist which make navigating a challenge, never mind that the steepness of the roads. Holy cow some of them just go straight up (or down!). Many of them are in bad condition and are questionable at best. Luckily locals... More

Twists and turns and switchbacks make for a fun drive up and down Tortola. Nothing prepares you for these roads! Gorgeous views!

Driving on Tortola is an adventure: --the island is mostly a mountain; most roads go up or down, and often, some with impossible looking switchbacks which will activate your car's antilock brakes; --driving is on the left, which may not be in your comfort zone; --roads are narrow, and many are not in the best condition; --you'll be largely unfamiliar...
