We had heard that Creole Rock offers the best snorkeling around St. Martin so we visited Creole Rock Water Sports to get the lowdown. Etienne was great! He explained that conditions were not great earlier in the week and followed through on his promise to watch the weather and let us know when conditions were optimal. He did not disappoint! It was a short boat trip from Grand Case (Petite Plage Hotel) out to The Rock, where tied up to a buoy and Etienne jumped into the water with us to guide us to various sites to see fish. He provides all the gear and bottled water. Total time out is about 90 mins, which is plenty of time. Cost is $55pp. Thanks Etienne!

The snorkeling guide is Etienne, and the desk is manned by Jevon. Both are charming and helpful. Their English is clear and easily understood. The trip to Creole Rock is quick and fun. Once there, the fish and coral are the best you will find, because Creole Rock is a marine park. Etienne will take you to where the fish are, because he knows the area. Be sure to follow him, because if you get ahead, you may miss the sights he has in mind! He will guide, protect and take care of you. Get a reservation early, they fill up. Etienne and Jevon are lovely people.

My husband and I enjoyed the small, intimate experience. We enjoyed talking and learning from Etienne, fluent in English and French...as well as the other family on the boat!! Etienne lives right near where he works, so this is a huge bonus to be on a tour with a local!!!!! We couldn't see as much sea life as we had hoped (partly due to our eyesight and weather conditions), but appreciated the experience. It was obvious that it was the better tour to be on b/c Etienne was with us the whole time as a professional and caring guide vs other trips who were visiting. All the other reviews definitely sum up this great tour! Fun, fun, fun!!!!!!

Thanks a lot for coming! Your review looks a 5 star one! We wish you a happy new year and hope your next snorkeling to Creole Rock we'll be within perfect visibility we usually have. Weather is the only thing of the tour we can't manage... fortunately. that keep this tour a "nature" one ;-))

We met another tourist who took a boat trip to Creole Rock and said it was terrible. I don’t doubt it. After we arrived we saw several boats arrive and dump their passengers off by the rock to snorkel. NOT ONE guided their snorkelers to where our captain and guide, Ettien, took us- by the reef! It is small but beautiful and healthy! You’d have to know where to go and fight some current to get there, so I doubt folks tooling around on their own would stumble upon it. Our captain also pointed out several interesting fish along the way including squid, French angelfish, trumpetfish and more. If you’re going to snorkel Creole rock and you care only about the snorkeling ( not music and partying on the boat) hands down you have to go with Creole Watersports. Our group was 3, but they take a max of 8. No frills on board- just great snorkeling. I highly recommend them.

We took a trip out to Creole Rock with Etienne in July. As already explained in other reviews, this is not a party type boat trip, but it worth your time. Etienne was in the water with us the whole time and pointed out noteworthy creatures, including the baracuda who hangs out in the area. We spent the morning at Grand Case Beach Club on the beach, had lunch there, then we went out for our snorkel trip. I highly recommend Creole Water Sports. It was the perfect way to see Creole Rock.
