Soufrière has several interesting wooden houses and a quite attractive church in a neo-gothic style, the catholic Church of the Assumption. It stands in the center of the little town, just next to the Downtown hotel. The interior has a wooden ceiling and stained glass windows and is worth a break, when in Soufrière, especially if one has the chance... More

Mass at the Church of the Assumption was a special experience. The deep faith of the parishioners was evident throughout the 2+ hour service. A worshipper graciously shared her hymnal and mass book with us since you must bring your own.

What a joy to attend Mass at this beautiful church filled with even more lovely people. Everyone made us feel so welcome, even sharing a missal and songbook with us. The Mass was so joyous and spirited, from the music and singing to the homily. The church itself is very very pretty, but it is the people inside that made... More

A cool oasis in a hot busy city. Unusual décor and detailing. Absolutely in the centre of town, easy to find but if you have a car then park in the multi-storey at the north of the market

People dress up for Mass, so... More

Looks nothing much from the outside but the interior blows you away. Beautiful painted wooden ceiling and stunning stained glass windows.

We when to the town to buy some stuff to take home, fridge magnet etc. Food is cheap and nice. Then we found the church that was beautiful inside. My daughter got a lovely picture with 2 of the nuns out side. Great experience worth a visit.

Beautiful singing at Sunday mass in this historic church. Friendly people. We particularly enjoyed seeing the beautiful children in their Sunday best. Note: locals do dress up for Mass.

The island churches are beautiful and not over the top. Plus, they are not crowded at all. If you are tired of industrial looking mega churches, you will appreciate this.
