One of the best thing to do in St.Lucia, worth the excursion, the view is beautiful and it feels like youre in the jungle, make a stop to the mud bath!

The hike to Gros Piton is a great exercise. It starts from 600 feet and takes about 2 hours to the top at around 2,600 feet. Sounds simple, but be warned that it is very strenuous. I am in my mid-40s, exercise almost everyday (jogging,...More

On my recent Caribbean cruise, I took a day tour on a catamaran to see the Pitons up close and personal. We then set ancor and snorkeled between these majestic mountains. The Pitons are a must-see if you are in St. Lucia.

We went on the Excursion Joe Knows tour we drove by the pitons close around them and it was the most beautiful view you could ever see. We were also lucky enough to go in a mud bath and a beautiful waterfall.

These are the iconic, volcanic natural treasures of Saint Lucia. There are a lot of hiking tours to climb them; it takes at least 3 hours and very strenuous. JJ's boat tour takes you with in viewing position so I could enjoy the view with...More

We climbed Gros Piton, and completely loved it. It took about 4 hours round trip, and we started early (7:30 am), but it was a great adventure for experienced hikers, and Marvin "the mountain goat" was our guide. We booked through Real St. Lucia tours,...More

The Piton Mountains are so beautiful and big. Far away and up close you can't keep your eyes off of them.

Gros Piton is a great hike. The guides are very friendly and will give you a few tidbits about the history of the island and the greenery you find on the way. As other reviews suggest, it isn't the easiest of hikes. However, if you...More

My new wife and I hiked the Gros Piton with Island Routes Tours. The hike was surprisingly intense. Many areas of the hike required some scrambling over wet rocks and holding onto man-made rails. We highly recommend some type of hiking shoe/boot. Slick soles would...More

This is a serious hike but a must do if you are in St. Lucia!! The guides are awesome (and the hike is nothing to them which is amazing in itself). Be sure and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!!

We climbed the kalalua trial n Kauai which was 8 miles to hanakapia falls. How does this hike compare? Has anyone done both? I run marathons but don't hike.

I have not hiked that trail, but I am a runner and have done some hiking in the US. It is so different, because of the incline and the heat, than any other hike, more like a climb. You are pretty much constantly walking up... More

We will be arriving for the day by cruise ship. It seems that the time needed to travel to/from and hike Gros Piton is not practical with our time constraints of docking from 8:00-5:00. Any suggestions for alternating hiking opportunities? We were looking forward to taking a break from visiting beaches, snorkeling and swimming. Diamond Falls, or Pigeon Island, perhaps? Thanks
