We were driving around by Anse La Raye and had some time to kill. We saw the signs to visit the waterfalls and decided to go. We like to encourage locals, so we thought we should have a look. The road itself was beautiful and the falls were okay but we ended up staying just 10 mins at the falls.... More

Friday fish night is a regular street food festival. It gets started after sunset, but we arrived i ntime to see the sunset whch was one of the most spectacular we saw on the island. The locals are friendly and the whole place is 'real' Not to be missed

Our driver said that if we want to see some authentic St.Lucia, then we should stop in Anse La Raye and he was right. There were some souvenir shops and street vendors with t-shirts etc. , but that's understandable and they weren't too aggressive. We talked with local fishermen, who had just came back from sea with their catch and... More

A fishing village unspoiled by tourism, although welcoming the dollars that it brings in. The people are very friendly and the views around the bay, and of the mountains, are wonderful. The church of the nativity of the blessed virgin Mary is beautiful in its simplicity and serenity.

Anse La Raye has been a fishing village and if you examine its name it is easy to see why. When the early French settlers arrived in Saint Lucia, Anse la Raye was one of the first areas they visited. As they sailed into the bay they may have stopped to admire the beautiful, forest hills behind it. They would... More

We went early( 5:30-6pm) so we could see the countryside and town before dark in January. The best part was watching the sunset on the pier and walking from near the church along back streets to glimpse small homes/shops. Best food was the whole fish baked in foil on a grill. We enjoyed the food since it was our first... More

Every Friday night the small fishing village of Anse La Raye has a fish fry on the waterfront where locals bring out their grills and sell a variety of fish dishes. We went on Black Friday so it wasn’t as lively as normal we were told. There were only a few stalls selling their fish frys. We bought a sampler... More

We took a taxi from our hotel in Marigot bay, you can expect to pay around 60 usd round trip, our driver was great, he dropped us at the end of the street, showed us where the washrooms were and where he would wait for us. We wandered off into the street, the music was playing and the food was... More
