5 family member hike down this ladder was an amazing hike! Beautiful views and once at the bottom we enjoyed a fantastic swim at the beach where the water was soooo warm and the waves were shielded by a ship that had run ashore there. We went down with a 4.5 year old who walked the entire way down and... More

Do not miss the steps down to Ladder Bay; it will educate you as to the ruggedness of the island, and the fortitude of the men and women, who founded and developed Saba. The steps up the side of the island, and the Bay, along with shore based long boats, were how all supplies were brought to the island before... More

My Husband and I did "the 800 steps" as our one and only hike in Saba....we did this after diving which was a mistake. If you dive do any hiking before diving. There are about 800 steps before you get to the 800 steps and the way back is taxing if you are not in decent shape. It is a... More

A great testament to the islanders who lived here before WW2, and the human spirit required to make this place home

This location visible from the sea is astounding and a must see. A large piano was carried up these stairs in order to be played on the island. Queen Juliana climbed these stairs as well and refused to be carried up on someone's back as royalty and wealthy used to do. A great site to see and NOT climb.

This is the place where the first boats docked for many years to make the treacherous climb up the side of the mountain to get to the city nestled on top. Hard to believe this lasted for centuries as the only way to the village carrying very heavy cargo.

Great dive with SeaSaba. Went to the hot springs and saw turtles, eels, etc... Thanks CAPT Anna for a great afternoon! Would definitely recommend SeaSaba for diving. They are a very organized and professional outfit. Our scuba gear was set up for us prior to our arrival. Truly a first class outfit.

Great rainforest hike. Beautiful views. Very steep, not for the faint of heart. And while you are walking, don't forget that it was built by hand to carry supplies up to the bottom.

Unbelievable everything at one pony came up these steps. Several hundred steps up the cliff to small building customs house that was the original only way only things came on island. Great dive reefs in front of it that give nice views by boat.

A great work out! & a beautiful view of the ocean! Be sure to prep for the weather wear sun screen, safe comfortable shoes and to have a sufficient amount of water (you'll be very thirsty)!
