I am seasoned enough at this game to know that there are no guarantees when it comes to hook-ups or the weather. We are always at nature's mercy. I have learned to judge my guides, independent of how many fish we boat. Franco is as friendly and accommodating as they come. I will say, we had a slow day. But... More

Franco is a die-hard fisherman who is very knowledgeable and happens to have a flat boat to fish the bay next to the biolum. bay (Mosquito Bay). No Tarpon or bonefish this trip but some action with small barracuda's - so perhaps next time - and will fish with Franco whenever I am in Vieques

We opted for the spinning tackle with live bait because the wife's fly-casting is still in its early phase and we wanted a better chance at catching fish. We had a blast! Capt. Franco was a great teacher and historian and we enjoyed the beautiful boat time. Fishing was kind of slow, but we got to watch him net live... More

Franco provided my daughter and I one of the best fishing experiences ever. He took us right to a group of feeding fish and my daughter hooked a Tarpon on her first cast. After several hours the fishing slowed, but by that point we had each had multiple hookups and this was one of our top 2 days of fishing... More

I loved the super laid back fishing day I spent with Captain Franco. He's a great guy and we had a wonderful day. I caught the first fish if my life....over 3' Tarpon that I fought to reel in for about 20-30 minutes. Really exhilarating.

Excellent guide-reasonable prices, new equipment, local knowledge with near perfect english. We originally booked him for bonefishing on the south coast but had to change to Tarpon fishing in the north. I was a bit bummed at first but ended up having a nice time and my son landed a large Tarpon. He picked us up from our sailboat which... More

I took my 12 year old son for a 4 hour trip with Franco. We had a great day out with him. we caught tarpon, small barracudas and a snapper. Franco is a really great guide. I will start out saying we did not have any lucky the day we went out, the fishing Gods were not on our sides. It was beautiful on the water, the boat ride was so much fun, the weather was perfect! Franco was great and very informative!

Spent an exciting half day spin casting and caught tarpon, mutton, barracuda and several others. Franco is knowledgeable, patient and prepared. Can't wait to come back and spend a full day!

Capt. Franco Gonzales is a very good guide, with an awesome disposition. He is the first who got fly fishing on Vieques on the map. Google him, and you'll see. He knows the flats very well. I've haven't fly fished in decades, so opted to do some light line spin fishing instead, which was fine with him. We went for... More
