As a musician I was really excited to visit this museum in Ponce and was completely crushed when we arrived and it was closed for unknown reasons. The guard at the back shooed us away and shouted "Closed!" All information from the tourism office at Parque Bomberos said it was open. Sad to have missed this.

It was an experience in itself. Looking at Folk and Popular music, its interpreters and how the world has embraced our musical legends.

If you are interested in a few old string instruments and drums, in a few rooms, with no actual music involved, then this is the place for you! The architecture of the building is actually more interesting. At least it was free.

Take the guided tour for free and walk around viewing different instruments. This stop is quick and easy on your 'to do' list. Unless you are a music lover, this is something that is on the 'nice to see if I have time' list. There are different styles of music in each room and the instruments that partake with that... More

This place must be seriously uplifted. The house is languid, dark and sad. Considering it is a music museum, it should look happier. It doesn't look clean.

It's free & right of the square. But not air conditioned & not what you might expect from the title & size of the place. I was hoping for some kind of scene like live music, but we literally just wandered through the quiet, hot rooms looking at the various instruments & artworks.

This is a traditional museum with things to look at and maybe read. A bit disappointing that there wasn't more sound and music to sample. However, it was well worth walking around the beautiful old house that holds the exhibits.

The museum is quaint. Seeing the history and the feel of the music was quite interesting. The set up could be a little better. Informative, staff is friendly.

The museum is very small but be sure to ask for a guide! Our guide not only explained the instruments and history but played a few of them for us and even let us try some ourselves. A real bonus for us was a display of artistically created guitars by a reknowed Puerto Rican artist. I hope someday they have... More

The museum could be much better! The house architecture is so amazing and the backyard is beautiful. But the museum is poor in information. We have a lot potencial in this theme, Puerto Rico have the best musicians in the world, they should have a room of that. MUSIC!!! I think that they should put some music according with the... More
