Our amazing guide, John Druitt (nicknamed "Rubio"), had a perfect combination of brilliant intellect and pure fun. A man who clearly takes his job seriously, but never takes himself seriously, John taught us more about the last 30 years of Puerto Rican history and, of course, El Yunque rain forest, than we could have ever hoped for. We met at... More

It rained steadily for 80% of the tour but our guide had brought light weight ponchos so we were okay. A guide is definitely a great idea and John Druitt our guide knew his stuff. We saw a toadie bird as well as the smallest known orchid. He was fun and energetic. The clouds parted at the top and we... More

I did a half day tour for the forest. It was an awesome experience! We basically drove around the forest to visit main sightseeing spots and were given 30min to explore the area. Obviously I wish we had a whole day for more hiking but still, half a day gave me plenty time to see the beauty of this forest.

We booked this through our Cruise line MSC, and it was provided by Tour Coop. Firstly, MSC's description of this tour was misleading, however the tour itself was brilliant, the drive from the port to the rainforest was about 40 mins, with information from the guide (Angel who was amazing) on the way, we had about 40 mins at the... This was an excursion organised by the cruise liner we were travelling with. What an amazing experience. This was our first experience of a rain forest and it did not disappoint. It took about an hour by road from the port to reach the forest. Our knowledgeable guide was great. He explained what the noises were we were hearing, (who... More

We spent almost a day in this huge and amazing tropical forest. Took a long tour surrounded by beautiful tropical planets I have never seen before. After the long walk you can fresh yourself in a natural waterfall cold but unforgettable experience.

El Yunque is a nearly pristine tropical rainforest less than an hour from the city of San Juan. The visitor's center is very well designed and includes information about the history of the park, its ecology, and research and conservation efforts. There is a gift shop at the visitor's center and gift shops and snack bars elsewhere within the park.... More

This is a lovely 28,000 acre rainforest comprising 75% virgin forest left in Puerto Rico and the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Firest System. There are 50 types of ferns, 20 varieties of wild orchids and 200 species of trees. Some are over 100 feet tall. There are birds, frogs and parrots. Oh and huge termite nests. If... More

This was truely a beautiful walk in the rainforest of El Yunque. This tour was about a 4 hour walk from the El Portal Visitor's Center to the water fall and back. The trails are in good shape and we were able to easily navigate the trail along with our guide who stopped in several places to describe the flora,... More
