About
The unique terraced Dunn’s River Falls is a refreshing adventure in the Jamaican jungle. Get a tour guide to help you navigate through the pools and to the giant staircase waterfalls—if the going gets too tough, there are points at which you can give up and walk along the adjacent path. The falls are a popular stop for cruise boats that pass through the area, so if you’re planning on visiting on your own, you’ll want to get there early in the morning for fewer crowds. Afterward, cross the highway and dry off on the golden sand at Dunn’s River Beach.

This was an invigorating and fun experience. Make sure you're in good health if you're going to climb it. The climb is not difficult, but stepping up on some of the stones can be challenging. The guides we had were very attentive and informative.

I never got any of my pictures I paid for and I didn’t have my phone that day. There’s no one to contact and no way to get my money back. Very mad.

We knew we wanted to explore the Waterfalls as soon as I booked the trip to Jamaica. You need water shoes!!!! It was much more intense than I anticipated but I loved every minute of it. The tour guides were amazing (especially Tammy). They take pictures for you and a video that you can buy (we did) but I also recommend bringing a waterproof camera or your phone in a waterproof case...its an amazing beautiful experience!!

Dunns river falls was an amazing day out.
It’s beautiful to look at and admire and absolutely amazing to climb.

I am not a very adventurous person , usually filled with anxiety of anything that could end up in injury, but I promise if you’re able bodied you are in the best care with your tour guide. You don’t have to be super fit (I am an unfit larger lady) but it is worth noting it is quite strenuous.

Milton our tour guide was absolutely amazing. He recognised at the very beginning I was nervous (without me saying) so put me in the front so he was next to me and holding my hand the whole time and I don’t think I would have had the guts to do it without him, he was amazing, calm and reassuring.

It was such a fun experience and as you are ‘living in the moment’ or slightly scared you may forget to capture some parts so the videographer Orville ensured he captured everything for you , he was also super reassuring.

I would 100% recommend that if your in Jamaica to go and see Dunns falls as it’s breathtakingly stunning and if you are able to, do the climb (even if you’re nervous)

The guides know what they are doing and do such a good job.

I would recommend definitely having water shoes and a waterproof case for your phone and wallet as you are waist deep in the water. There is also places to change so clean clothes and underwear.

Try to visit on a sunny day when there are no cruise ships docked. On the day of our visit, it was busy but numbers tailed off after lunch enabling some photos without the crowds. At a busy time you are going to climb the falls with a guide, forming a chain and holding hands. Not sure about the chain - if one person slips, how many others get dragged down? You're going to get staged photo opportunities and photographers on the way up so, if you don't mind the crowds, go for it. A better experience might be had on a quiet day. The falls themselves are photogenic (minus the crowds) and there are stages up the climb where you can enter or exit the falls and take your own photos in the process. People seem to have issues with the steps going down to the end of the falls and the beach. They are steps - watch what you are doing - it's no big deal. The beach is nothing special so don't think of it as an alternative to doing the falls climb. So far so good. Then you exit through the craft market. Unfortunately expect to be hassled - which means that even if you do want to look at what's on offer, you'll be pushed to buy something, or buy more, or....guess what - take the 'free gift' carved log. We got away with $40 for two but should have walked away. There are signs around the attraction saying a tip is earned. More like demanded. Someone needs to manage selling and tipping because between the two they spoil what is a lovely natural attraction.

I paid for the video and never got it. I was told it would be emailed to me within 48 hours. Customer service from Aqua Sun Jamaica Ltd. and Dunns River Video Ltd. is nonexistent. I have texted and emailed both Aqua Sun and Dunn’s River and no response. Beware with this group of scammers.

This was a fantastic experience. We started the experience with a drive from Falmouth to the falls (since our cruise ship couldn’t dock in Ocho Rios). Once there we geared up for zip lining which included 7 zip lines and 3 suspension bridges. The last of which went directly over the falls and were awesome. Jason our zip lining guide was funny and very helpful. We then went to the mouth of the falls where it empties into the ocean and started our climb up the falls. Slippery yes but not overly difficult. We took pictures and enjoyed our climb stopping and watching the kids play at different spots. Once finished with the climb we piled back into the van for our trip back to Falmouth. Cameron our driver was amazing as he was able to get us back to port in time to get back on our cruise line before it left (yeah we cut it close). Definitely a good experience and worth doing. Make sure to bring closed toed shoes for the zip lines.

The best time! A unique experience, climbing up the gorgeous falls (for me, with a group of newfound adventuring companions). Videographer Curtis was fun, experienced and professional. Amazing pix! Would happily return and suggest anyone in a two-hour radius make the trip and enjoy the memory making!

Such a stunning place and a great place to visit, the photographer was brilliant and captured some great pictures. Everyone is very friendly and helpful if you need help climbing up the falls. The tour guides are excellent and definitely worth their tips at the end of the trip. We purchased the pictures and videos and they cost $40 dollars and were emailed, a nice keepsake to keep.
There is a market at the end which is very busy and they do really want you to purchase their items!
