This is a must do / see as it’s not far from Ocho Rios. We had our own car and continued on up to Nine Miles - home of Bob Marley - an amazing crazy drive through Jamaican countryside. Lots of winding roads and pot holes. Awesome.

WE were very lucky on this day, Nice weather, Not much traffic, So we were able to drive up the Gully at a very leisurely pace. As a man made road,,,It's great. But to be fair we had been on 100's of Kilometers of great to look at roads in Jamaica, Around cockpit Country, The Blue Mountains etc. Plus its great to cycle through…

We drove through Fern Gully which was magical, Our knowledgeable Jamaican driver told us that years ago one needed headlights on as it was so dark and completely encompassed by this huge canopy of towering trees. However . Hurricane Gilbert blew the tops off allowing shafts of light to penetrate, The vast roots were so historic that we wanted to stop and explore but the road has few places to pull over, so traffic kept us moving. Ok. I am not a fan of toll roads. Junction has been closed to make it better. So I have been driving through fern gulley. Lovely. But take care as roads are narrow and some local taxis and buses treat it as a racecourse. However, it is still very worth the drive through it.
