Unless you go with a tour guide, all you'll know is you're in a brick fort with (18th? 19th?) century cannon hulks in it. You can guess it was designed to protect the port of Lucea, but beyond that you're on your own. Lots of post-fort ruins/abandoned buildings as well (to include a brick vehicle ramp allowing for under-carriage maintenance).... More

Great lookout point for the sunset and a good view of the Palladium Resorts in Lucea. Also a very romantic spot for an evening sipping on wine or fishing

Old English fort on a rock outcropping in the town of Lucea. Has the old cannons and windows you can sit in while you enjoy the waves crashing on the rocks. Very "Pirates of the Caribbean" without the crowds - or probably anyone else. Worth a stop if you are on your way out to Negril...

I am interested in military fortifications, so a visit here was essential. A good spot with great views to the seaward. A pity, though not surprising, that so little has been done to exploit the position better. Local rumour is that a Chinese developer is interested. Fort Charlotte is an C18th small coastal artillery fort guarding the entrance to Lucea... More

Breathe taking view of the Caribbean Sea, listen to the waves crashing ashore. Dare to go fishing from the cliffs with a fire next to you and a cooler with beers and smokes. Yes all you need to be one with the elements.

Needs to be restored which would make it more interesting. Still liked going there though and would not miss it.

We were taken here by Reggae tours though we could look across at it from our hotel. Only a small fort but an interesting place to visit with canon in place.
