Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Small big discovery on the way to the Pointe des Châteaux. A bold place that inaugurates an extraordinary atmosphere, a meeting of the past/guadalupense heritage with the contemporary world highlighting artists of great talent. Visiting the Museo and touring the gallery in the presence of Vincent is a separate spectacle. Excentric, dedicated, kind and curious Owner! Bravo KWI, merci pour cette expérience!

This place wears many hats, and does so extremely well. It is part amazing art gallery, with contemporary works done by local artists, mixed flawlessly in with historical pieces from all over Guadeloupe. Make sure to tour the pieces outside - during my visit, a large outdoor installment of coloured glass bottles was being terrorized by the neighborhood goats! The piracy room is particularly creepy, and I love the kitchenware(forks, spoons, kettles) hanging from the ceiling. The place is beautifully cluttered, and very informative - definitely worth a visit. Kreol West Indies is also part boutique/gift shop. Here, you can find all the one-of-a-kind Guadeloupe pieces, jewelry, hair accessories, art work and prints, and the most amazing bags. Satchels, duffles, cosmetics bag, all are handmade by people with disabilities, using repurposed boating fabrics, making the pieces completely waterproof AND completely unique and beautiful. The gentlemen running the shop/museum were very kind, invested in their mission of sharing history and supporting local causes. They were very informative, and discussed at length about the different groups represented by the products for sale in the shop. A nice extra? We had not planned on touring the museum, but after a little shopping, falling in love with the duffles, and making a few purchases, they invited us to tour - on the house. Forget the knock-off t-shirts, stop here instead and pick out a few unique pieces to bring home to family, and know that you are supporting the needs of local groups in Guadeloupe. Plus, it's on the way to Pointe-des-Chateaux, so you can't miss it!

A great spot to hit on route to the nearby beaches. Plenty of souvenirs, art and bijoux. It is along the main road and can't be missed.

We stopped at the Kreol West Indies. We paid 5 Euros per person for the the Kreol West Indies.

They sold also t-shirts.

However this is a museum with lots of paintings from Guadeloupe. There are more than 35 artists.

We were lucky to take pictures.

We saw lots of paintings. There were other items like a table, and a bed that was supposedly an arts.

Outside there was an attraction with green bottles. That was really elegant.

There was also a metal giraffe.

Anything we saw was arts, even if it is a table or anything else. There were 35 artists who worked on that.

There were some beautiful paintings others not as well.

We enjoyed and explored the museum completely.

The best parts were in the yard.

Worthwhile to see!

This is a lovely place. The entrance fee of the museum is 2 euro. It gives you access to the area where history and modern art come together. There is an English text available of the history part of the exhibition. The modern art (mainly paintings) have explainations as well. Modern art is of high quality.
The shop has nice things for sale.
Go here instead of the many other artisan shops on the road to point chateaux. It is well worth it!!!

Perhaps you’re heading east of Saint Vincent looking for souvenirs at the House of Coconuts, where you’ll get typical tourist stuff that you could buy anywhere. Do yourself a favor and stop at Kreol West Indies first. It’s on the way and offers real local artisanal work, a super friendly proprietor who speaks excellent English, plus an enlightening museum of island arts, crafts and history.

Called by during a squall to see interesting local artistic interpretations and the historical context, worth a diversion on the way down or way back from the point, parking and situated by the road.
