Took the boat ride as part of a tour that also went to Altos De Chavon, and is was awesome! I wish it were longer, which is saying a lot since I hate boats, lol. They play Dominican music as they serve you surprisingly tasty...More

The Rio Chavon is fairly famous for its dramatic scenery, so much so that quite a few blockbuster films were filmed here. It connects into the sea near La Romana so it is a great add on to a trip to Catalina or Saona island

Evening upriver cruise. River empties into sea at marina. Cruise left from this area. Winding course with high banks. Few birds seen. Rate high because we were on cruise boat with friends, bar, and food. Would be a good day time kayak trip.

If you miss this, it's only big deal. It's very green, not a lot of wildlife and bit dull. If you can do it cheaply or have time to kill then do it
