An amazing experience! So glad we booked this, as it was a little out of my comfort zone. We took a 45 minute hike up (with lots of breaks). We booked through Norwegian Cruise Line and it was VERY organized. The bus ride there was full of jokes and fun facts about the surrounding area. Our tour guides (Boris, Toni and Nelson) were AWESOME! They were very informative, fun and most importantly PATIENT! They have what they call their "paparazzi's", who take tons of videos and pictures, which you can buy a thumb drive of for $55 at the end. They also let you bring your phone if you had a waterproof case. One thing I was also worried about was what I would do with my prescription glasses once we got there, but the guide will take them and put in a plastic bag right before your first jump and give back to you after you exit the water. I highly recommend this once in a lifetime adventure!

What a great adventure. There’s about 45 minutes of hiking, but the guides take breaks along the way. We wore heavy soled water shoes. Whatever you wear on your feet will get wet when going down the natural slides into water. Keep that in mind when doing this activity. Unfortunately, you can’t take cameras or cell phones with you. There are many photo ops, but there’s someone filming everything for purchase after the tour.

We were not prepared for what was in store for us. So wear comfortable shoes for hiking on rocks and that can get wet. It is approximately a 30 minute walk to where you literally jump into the river and then slide down various gorgeous and naturally created waterslides. One of our friends lost their glasses, so the guides are NOT kidding about leaving items in the locker or tour bus. It was quite the adventure and worth every penny! Highly recommend this one.

It was a great activity! We always had the option of going down a ladder if we didn’t want to jump. We had 2 jumps and 5 slides. It was scary at the beginning but the guides were really nice and they helped us every step of the way.

It seems all the cruise ships send bus loads of people, and for good reason. While there are a lot of people visiting, the experience is worth the uphill trek as the guides are helpful and good at managing the crowds. Beyond the sliding and floating with the water, the scenery is a reminder of how beautful our planet is.

This is a great excursion. But it's not easy. It was a 45 minute hike...and it was uphill most of way. Once at top, the walk down to first jump is easier. I am very glad I took this trip...even if it was exhausting.

You must be in relatively good shape for this adventure, but if you survive the hike up the numerous steps to the mountaintop, it's SO worth it!
The guides were knowledgeable about the foliage and quite hilarious! But, it was always safety first!
For people who know how to swim, and looking for a few adrenaline rushes, it was a fantastic afternoon!

One of the many natural beauties of DR, the 27 waterfalls of Damajagua River are a great excursion. You can also do a shorter version of only 7 falls with rock slides and jumping into the pools My wife and I are senior citizens (70 + and still in good shape), however, BE PREPARED... DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE. You have to climb a steep set of stairways to get to the top of the 7 falls. We took it slow and easy, but it was quite a task. Nevetherless, the jump into the first of the (short-version) 7 pools is spectacularly refreshing and clears all your worries aways.

The next thing to be prepared is WEAR WATER MOKS that drain quickly and have a thick sole, because after you finish the excursion, the walk back down the riverbed to the tourist center is full of rounded river rocks that play havoc with the soles of your feet. My wife and I only had those thin soled beach slippers and are NO GOOD.

All in all, the adventure was very good and quite entertaining. Still good to know my wife and I have got the energy and capability to enjoy excursions like this.

We did the Waterfall & Buggy adventure through Virgin Voyages (on the Scarlet Lady ship). We had a great time - the tour guides made it fun & they were very supportive when people were scared of jumping.

However, the only reason for NOT putting 5 stars is because our photos were never uploaded to the website they provided. Our group purposely did not bring any phones or cameras because the photos were supposed to be included in our package (as confirmed by the tour guides the day-of). I waited the 3-4 days after the adventure to check the site, as instructed, and I found photos of other passengers from our ship, but not of my group specifically. I’ve checked it multiple times, but it’s clear at this point that they were not uploaded. Very disappointing.

I did not make the waterfalls this time but I have gone there 4 times in the past. It is a fabulous excursion that includes a jeep ride through the mountains and visit to a home with coffee making and other interesting sites. The waterfalls themselves are a physical challenge but if you are not up to it, it’s wonderful to wade in the natural pool at the bottom.
