Nice quaint beach.

We had a chance to go by the beach when we were on the cruise. We rented a small cab to see the City. The beach is in a so-so neighborhood but was rather safe. There is a nice... read more

Just relaxed on the beach and caught some sun and watched the boats go by. Nice breeze made it feel very comfortable a min. 15 sunscreen is recommended

beautiful beach which was pleasantly slightly windy. The sea was warmer than the swimming pools. The only downside were the sellers who were slightly pushy and encouraged you to visit their shops which were enclosed market stalls some distance away

Do not go to this beach. It is horribly dirty, full of plastic and glass. And if you go anyway, don't go beyond guarded section of the beach. Me and my girlfriend almost got robbed. Since the robber was not armed, we fought back and lost nothing. Experience was very traumatic though. Never going back!

We walked along the beaches in puerto plata today and right after sunbeds and umbrellas at long beach somebody tried to rob us. We had to fight towards him with our bare hands. We lost our flipflops and a hat while fighting and running away. It's dangerous place. A security guy heard our screaming and the robber got caught. Dont... More

I was surprised that on this sunny day, hardly anyone was around. No one bugged us. The restaurants in the area had workers about but no pressure at all.

A climbing tower gave views of the ocean and an city and vendors sold food. In the last ten years or so it has been closed to anyone and is gradually falling down. BUT the beach... More
