We had fun going up the cable car and I got some gorgeous pictures on the way up. Get a tour guide and tell them how much you want to walk. You could spend the day up there if you wanted to. We were up there a couple of hours. Some breath taking views of the Ocean and Puerta Plata.

My friends and I didn't book this one at $70. Instead we took a cab from the hotel. Which costed us $15each both ways and the taxi waited for us til we returned! The fee to get in was $10. I liked this a lot it was a park professionally landscaped on top of a mountain! Nothing like it.

Walked up the mountain on a local church tour. The hike is not for those not in top shape (about 4 mile I estimate and uphill rough all the way). Once on top the views and the history is to die for. It is one of the reasons why we travel.

Went with my daughter and the cable car to the top is amazing. Monument, great to see but it seemed that the shopping inside the monument was everyone's focus and less the views and monument. Don't feel rushed when you get there, the views are worth the wait and they will always take you back down. Tons of shopping inside... More

This is a tram ride to the top with lots of views of the city. Easy walking around the top and then you come back down the tram and do a city tour of a rum factory, larimar, and amber, see the town square and the church then the fort and then the day is done. Bring a snack since... More

The cable car ride was a memorable experience. The ride was very smooth and I didn't have my usual fear of heights. The operation seemed very reliable and professional. It takes less than 10 minutes to ride each way. The scenery is beautiful from the top of the mountain. The Christ statue is impressive.

The cable car ride is great and the views are amazing - once on top, you are at Mount Isabel de Torres. We booked a private tour through Isaira Tours while our cruise ship was at Amber Cove. We visited the Teleferico, Fort San Felipe, and Damajaqua Cascades (7 falls) as part of this tour. We points for others thinking/planning... More
