Stayed at the Jaragua hotel right in front of the malecón and went to a restaurant on the malecón, nice boulevard to stroll, noticed that they are making renovations and it needs better lighting through the streets.

Beautiful road by the ocean but the building in the area looks ruins lots of trailers. Traffic very heavy most of the time. Don't walk alone the city it's dangerous

Coworkers took me here to have dinner with a view. It was a quaint place that had good food. The price was good as well. I recommend it.

Go to Adrian Tropical for the best local food there is. The portions were huge and the price was perfect. You can walk the George Washington Avenue until you can go anymore. Great shopping and great food.

You will not really see tourists here. The water and beach was full of trash. Pretty dirty. A few restaurants along, we did not try any. Fisherman, kids swimming with plastic bottles around them...

This shoreline is okay, there are definitely better kept, prettier locations in the city. I wouldn't adviser walking around in the evening/at night on your own or in a small group.
