Don't give a tattered dollar, they refuse to accept them!

We were disappointed in the experience. It is dirty, crowded and many with stray dogs everywhere it was heart breaking. I would avoid downtown and catch a taxi to one of the beautiful falls, springs or inside island activities.

On the surface, this appears to be just another "tacky tourist" stop...yet it is oozing with history. There is an old concrete slab by the red fountain...and this is where the slave market was - before emancipation. The cobblestones in the market are original as well... it is too bad that more people don't realize the sad history which took... More

You can by tropical fruits or local hand made gifts from here. The prices are very reasonable and you can listen to the Calypso music while you shop.

We arrive by local bus which was an experience in itself. Market was on Sunday morning mostly food fruits and fish. There is however some crafts in the town where there are a few stalls to look at. Did manage to find a few things to bring back with me.

The shopping that is around the sqaure for the most part is in pop up stands that you are used to through out the Caribbean. It is an easy walking tour around the area, it does get steep if you go farther inland toward the Stadium. All the people are very friendly and there are some restaurants and bars for... More

Very interesting island with a market that's been in continuous use for generations. Well worth the stop. Right across from the cruise terminal.

This was an OK market to shop at. The vendors where not too pushy and where generally pleasant to deal with. There were quite a few vendors when we where there, but we arrived on a cruise ship, so I think all the vendors opened up for us. Allot of the vendors had the same items, so after a while... More

when I went on that island there wasn't much of anything to look at and it wasn't great I was a little bit let down . I came back to my cruise with nothing no souvenirs at all so I was annoyed a little bit . There was barely anything to buy at all

The shops were filled when we visited because a large cruise liner was in town. But that also meant being hounded by taxi drivers every 15 seconds. Didn't do much for me, and my wife, who loves to shop, didn't buy anything
