Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a drive off the road, walk a few minutes and enjoy the view. Look for the small cave and watch the waves crash. Do a stop when seeing the chocolate factory and you are in the area. See my Batibou beach review near by

Not to be missed is this natural red rock formation in the Calibishie area which is a hidden gem, hardly mentioned in various guides. We couldn't see any signs and struggled to find it - almost gave up till we met Lennox Abrahams (616 2356) who took us around (Don’t forget to reward him handsomely!)

This is a stunning rock formation, which is ‘maintained’ and has steps cut into it by a local. (He charges $2 pp – if he’s not at his hut, pay at the bar up the road on the left or give the money to Lennox.) In addition, there are tremendous views of the bays around.

How to get there: as of January 2016.
Basically, drive up Pointe Baptiste Road (look for the Chocolate sign), which is roughly parallel to Main Road to the end which is a small glade with a couple of huts. At the end is a path with a chain across it – go through here and in a couple of minutes you’ll come across a clearing with a hut at the end, where you ‘pay’.

Take the path at the end of the clearing and you’ll reach the rocks in a few minutes – it’s an easy walk, and so rewarding.

Very special views, those stunning red rocks. We didn’t spend much time there, about 45 minutes, but if you asked Danny - the guy who collects your USD 2 donation to help preserve the area - to give you a tour, you’d probably stay a bit longer as he apparently is very knowledgeable only local vegetation and can take you to a cave. We didn’t take advantage of this as we were there with our 1,5-year old and the rocks were a bit too uneven for her to walk much and she doesn’t like to be carried too long. For older children and adults it’s an easy walk though. Definitely a must-see if you’re in the area but don’t plan it as a full day trip.

It is not a whole day deal, but certainly worth an afternoon after visiting the chocolate plantation down the road. It is just not something you ever see in the Caribbean, an odd soft rock/clay. spectacular contrast to the blue water and foam from the waves...there is a tiny black beach you can hike down to...snorkeling is ok although the water has some current to it, fun just to take a dip and move on. You may be greeted by some folks lounging in a grass hut just before the chain across the trail down to it...if one offers a tour, take it, he has a couple "insider" paths down to a little cave etc. they may seem a little sketchy, but that is your western brain talking to you...friendly informative and fun folks.

You go because it looks great. More so because it's very different from the colors you normally see on the island. It only takes 15-20 minutes. Worth it. Take the opportunity to buy chocolate very near by at Pointe Baptiste Factory.

First you pass the Pointe Baptiste Chocolate mini factory and then into a stunning fiery red scenery. It's best 3ciew when the sun is setting because the reflections are just amazing.

Gosh this place was just added to one of my favorite places on island. My fiance took me there for my birthday a week ago and I fell in love with everything especially the scenery.. It is truly an amazing creation from God!

A pretty neat landscape to take photos of, but I would not come here unless I were already in the area. I did not check out TripAdvisor first and wished I had known to also visit the nearby chocolate factory. There was a local man named Danny there who called himself the Red Rock Ranger. He wanted a $2 per person donation before we left the property. I am not sure why since he did not tell us anything about it, show us anything, or provide anything such as having to keep up a facility like a restroom. Of course we gave him the money.

Off the beaten path in Calibishe but not difficult to reach. There is a rope along the 'stairs' which was helpful as we went just after it rained and it was very slippery. A local guy will ask you for a donation before you head down- 2$(usd)- it's definitely worth it.

The natural landscape is stunning! We were lucky to be the only visitors when we were there. Highly recommend a visit.

We followed directions from an earlier review and yes, from the south end of town, you go to the bus stop and turn left following the signs to the chocolate maker. Park by the chocolate maker and walk to the right of the building. Any person you see will be helpful in pointing the way. Breathing view. Serene. Don't forget to stop and buy plenty of chocolate. They have at least a dozen flavors!
